Is bonding required for the internal foil of the 2D4P6AIPV3R-BU?

The foil is non-contiguous (meaning it is not and end-to-end connected foil or screen). As the cable is not a Shielded Cable,  bonding will have no effect and will not provide any earthing properties.

  • New Cat6A UTP cable weight is 28% lighter than previous product
  • New Cat 6A UTP cable uses less raw material to manufacture,  resulting in reduced consumption of materials and resources.
  • Higher performance against heat rise in case of PoE (Power over Ethernet)

Why is there an internal foil on the new design of Cat6A cable, 2D4P6AIPV3R-BU?

The internal foil is designed to assist with immunity to external noise as defined as ‘Alien cross-talk’. “Alien cross-talk” has a predominant effect on the transmission at 10 Gbps speed. This foil design helps to provide full EMI protection (coupling attenuation (AC) > 55dB, Type II coupling attenuation. ANEXT and AFEXT are proven by design)
