Can BPH motors be used with the Lexiium 32 Servo drives?

Yes, the BPH motors are compatible with Lexium 32 servo drives. They are to be characterized as third party motors.  If using a BPH motor with resolver, you will need to use a resolver option card P/N : VW3 M3 401. If using a BPH motor with encoder feedback, you will need to use an encoder option card.VW3 M3 403 (for hiperface encoder) along with a Lexum 32 modular drive (32M). The third party motor commissioning tool within SoMove helps calculate the offset to commutate the motor.

What can prevent an OP2 fault code on an ATV212 drive?

What can prevent an OP2 fault code on an ATV212 drive?

      Product Line:
      ATV21, ATV212

      Environment:
      All models and serial numbers

      Cause:
The OP2 fault is caused by overvoltage during deceleration

      Resolution:
      1.  Increase the deceleration time (increase dEC).
      2.  Disable Auto Ramp Adaptation (Set AU1 to 0). Auto ramp adaptation can cause fluctuation on the line supply to the drive.
      3.  Measure drive DC bus (PA/+ to PC/-) with a meter.
      4.  Check for load issue that can cause back feeding issue to DC bus such as stopping a load very quickly.
Stopping one fan while another fan is pulling on it (such as in a wind tunnel) can cause back feeding into the DC bus.

Note: A dynamic braking resistor cannot be added to the ATV212 drive.

How to perform MSET on a BPH motor using Lexium 17/15 Servo Drive?

Issue:  Although the BPH motors that are used with the Lexium 17 and 15 range of Servo drives are factory MSET, occasionally there may be a need to MSET this in the field due to commutation error being reported.

      Product Line: Lexium BPH

      Environment:

Cause: Due to an incorrect offset value set in the drive, the drive may report a F25, commutation error.

Resolution: This resolution discusses the MSET procedure for a BPH motor with a Lexium 17/15 series drive.

Proper commutation and position feedback are required to interface a particular servo drive and motor combination. When using Schneider Electric BPH motors and Lexium drives, this setup (or “characterization”) process has been completed and verified for the user at the factory. Occasionally there may be a need to MSET the BPH motor and this is detailed in this procedure.

Perform the following steps, as described, and in the order presented, to complete the MSET procedure.

      1.    Disconnect the Motor from the Mechanical Load
      2.    Electrical Connections
      A.   Verify that the required electrical connections for drive power, logic power, motor power and resolver are as described in the Lexium drive user manual.
      B.   Apply 24VDC logic and AC input power to confirm proper drive startup sequence and self-checks.

Follow this MSET procedure only if the drive firmware is ver 5.51 and above.

Connect to the drive using Hyperterm…

      1. Type OPMODE followed by Enter – note down the Opmode (xx) the drive is set to.

      1. Type OPMODE 2 followed by Enter – switch to digital torque mode
           C.     Type 'EN' followed by Enter.

           D.     Type "Zero" followed by ENTER - Motor shaft will jump to nearest pole. MPHASE value is automatically set.

      1. Type SAVE

      1. Type OPMODE xx followed by enter ( where xx is the default value that was originally set for the application.)

           G.    Type COLDSTART (the drive will reboot)
      This completes the MSET procedure.

Which explicit command is used to read the IP address of BMENOC0301, BMENOC0311 in Unity Pro ?

The IP address can be read by using explicit command Read_Var.
In the ADDM the address would be 'r.m.c.server address'
Here r is rack number, m is module slot of ENOC module, c is channel & server address is "100".
So the syntax would '0.3.0.100' where 3 is module slot and 100 is server address in the ENOC module.

      Now to read the IP address the modus data mapping is at Offset + 5 for ( IP1 & IP2 ), Offset +6 for ( IP3 & IP4 ).
Here the offset starts from zero.

How much power can be regenerated into the supply system by ATV680?

The ATV680 is able to regenerate 100% nominal power continuously and 120% for 60 sec every 10 min when regenerative mode is enabled. With the factory setting (CLIG = LHM) the drive allows just 10% braking power.
Set ([Complete settings] -> [Generic functions] -> [Active Front End] -> [AFE Generator Mode]) CLIG to LHRM or 120.0% to enable full braking power.

      Issue:
What would cause a 4-20mA Loss Warning on an Altivar Process Drive?
How do I turn off the Red Flashing Warning Light?

      Product Line:
      Altivar Process Drive (ATV630, ATV930, ATV650, ATV950, ATV660, ATV960, ATV680, ATV980)

      Environment:
All serial numbers for Altivar Process Drive

      Cause:
Drive is displaying Warning or Error Codes:
      AP1 - AI1 4-20 Loss Warning
      AP2 - AI2 4-20 Loss Warning
      AP3 - AI3 4-20 Loss Warning
      AP4 - AI4 4-20 Loss Warning
      AP5 - AI5 4-20 Loss Warning
      LFF1 - AI1 4-20mA loss
      LFF2 - AI2 4-20mA loss
      LFF3 - AI3 4-20mA loss
      LFF4 - AI4 4-20mA loss
      LFF5 - AI5 4-20mA loss

      Resolution:
The 4-20mA loss operates with 2 hysteresis: one threshold to activate the 4-20mA loss and the other threshold to allow the reset of this 4-20mA.
      - When the AI value goes under 2mA the drive detects the 4-20mA loss.
      - When the AI value goes over 3mA the drive allows the reset of 4-20mA loss
      - When the AI value drops down pretty close to 2mA the drive displays a 4-20mA Loss Warning

      Possible Remedies:
      - Verify the connection on the analog inputs
      - Check mA signal for possible interference
      - This detected error can be cleared with the [Auto Fault Reset] Atr or manually with the [Fault Reset Assign] rSF parameter after the cause has disappeared

To Clear 4-20mA Loss if getting Warning Light
If getting a red warning light flashing on the keypad normally it is because it detects an AI2 or AI3 4-20mA Loss Warning. To clear the warning light try the following:
      • First, disable the 4-20mA warning
        • [Complete settings] [Error/Warning handling] [4-20mA loss]-> set to 'ignore'
      • Second, change unused analog inputs from Current to Voltage
        • [Complete settings] [Input/Output] [AI/AQ] [AI2 configuration]
        • [Complete settings] [Input/Output] [AI/AQ] [AI3 configuration]

In Somachine v4.1 SP2 it is not possible to declare function blocks as retain as this can cause exceptions.
But it is still possible to declare variables as retain inside function blocks.

This should be corrected in SoMachine V5.

ION Enterprise v5.6 Service Pack 2 (SP2) does not contain the .cfg file for the ION7550 and ION7650 with firmware v352 causing Designer to show all the modules for the meter on 1 page instead of the correct folders.

      Goals and Symptoms

When adding an ION7550 or ION7650 (FW V352) into an ION Enterprise v5.6 SP2 system, ION Enterprise Designer will not be able to find the .cfg diagram file. Therefore, all the modules are scattered on one page instead of being in the correct folders. ION Enterprise v5.6 SP2 is looking for the v3.3.2 .cfg diagrm file. Please note that v3.3.2 dgm (Vista diagram) is available in ION Enterprise v5.6 SP2.

      Causes and Fixes

Apply the ION7550 / ION7650 Device Support updater file to the ION Enterprise system, ION 7650 / ION 7550 v350 (Mar 2009). This file can be found on https://www.powerlogic.com for United States customers or https://www.global.powerlogic.com for International customers.

StruxureWare Power Monitoring 7.0: Side By Side upgrade - reports missing after restore

      Goals and Symptoms

      Symptoms
After using the Side-by-Side upgrade utility to restore a migration package into SPM 7.0, in Web Reporter some or all of the Default Reports will be missing.

      Keywords
      Side by Side SBS SxS
      Web Reporter Default Reports Missing

      Causes and Fixes

Cause 1 - Migration fron an ION Enterprise 5.6 SP2 system
ION Enterprise 5.6 SP2 did not have the Web Reporter application; it uses the older Reporter application. When a 5.6 SP2 version is upgraded with the Side by Side migration tool it doesnt know about the web reports and will not have anything to back up, when it is then migrated to 7.0 there are no default web reports in the system.

Cause 2 - Migration from an ION Enterprise 6.0 SP1 system
ION Enterprise 6.0 sp1 does have the Web Reporter application and does have the default reports that are backed up using the Side by Side tool. The SBS tool will then put these reports back into the 7.0 system after upgrade, but it will not have the 3 new Usage reports that have been added in 7.0. It will have all the updates applied to the 7.0 reports as this is handled in the 7.0 install not the upgrade.

The SBS tool doesnt install the new default reports, it will only back up existing default reports from the old system.

      Resolution
To have all the default reports in the upgraded 7.0 version, the user will need to re-upload both default report packs "Default" and "Usage" (either with the web browser interface, or upload report pack utility).
After that all the default reports will be added and ready for use.

Can SQL 2012 be used with Power Monitoring Expert (PME) 7.2 or PME 7.2.2?

      Issue:
A user would like to know what versions of SQL server are supported by PME 7.2.x

      Product line:
      Power Monitoring Expert 7.2.x

      Environment:
      PME 7.2.x SQL Server Support

      Cause:
A user wants to know if SQL 2012 Standard, Enterprise or Express is compatible with PME. In addition, user wants to know if SQL 2012 SP2 (service pack 2) Standard, Enterprise or Express is compatible with PME 7.2.2.

      Resolution:
      Power Monitoring Expert (PME) 7.2
      - SQL 2012 is not supported on standalone system (i.e. PME and SQL 2012 are on same server)
      - SQL 2012 may be used with Power Monitoring Expert (PME) 7.2 only if it is a distributed system (i.e. PME is on one server and SQL 2012 is on a different server).
      - SQL 2012 Standard or Enterprise are supported but not express. The installation procedure will be the same as SQL 2008 R2 in the Power Monitoring Expert 7.2 Installation Guide
      - Please review the "What's new in PME7.2" PowerPoint attached along the article.

      Power Monitoring Expert (PME) 7.2.2
      - Windows Server 2012 R2 Standard and Enterprise versions, and SQL Server 2012 Standard/Enterprise SP1 editions are now supported on standalone and distributed system. SQL Server 2012 Express SP1 Edition is only supported on standalone system.
      - Please review the "What's new in PME 7.2.2" document attached along the article for more information.

SQL 2012 standard/enterprise is supported with PME 7.2.2; however, there are couple things to know before updating the SQL 2012 to SP2.
Case 1: If customer has installed the PME 7.2.2 and currently has SQL 2012 SP1, then they can just upgrade their SQL to SP2 and there will no problem.

Case 2: If the customer doesn't have PME 7.2.2 installed yet then they will have to follow one of two scenarios listed below:
              a) Scenario 1: Customer can install SQL 2012 standard with SP1 and run the PME 7.2.2 installer. Once, PME 7.2.2 installer runs successfully, then upgrade the SQL 2012 to SP2.
              b) Scenario 2: If customer upgrades the SQL 2012 standard to SP2 then they will have to configure the broker files which will bypass checking the SQL version and PME 7.2.2 installer will not error it out.
(NOTE: If the broker files are not configured and customer tries to run PME 7.2.2 installer with SQL 2012 SP2, then PME 7.2.2 installer will give you error.)
For instructions on modifying the broker file, please follow the steps outlined in the knowledge base article FA233769
As a result, SQL 2012 SP2 is supported but make sure the process is followed correctly when upgrading the SQL 2012 to Service Pack 2.

Can we skip to the latest Vijeo Designer Service Pack?

Yes. Vijeo Designer Service Packs are cumulative so Vijeo Designer VX.y SPz would contain the same fixes as Vijeo Designer VX.y SP(z-1)

Ex. Vijeo Designer V6.2 SP3 contains Vijeo Designer V6.2 SP2 and Vijeo Designer V6.2 SP1.

Keep in mind that it is possible that some hotfixes are not in the service pack that is immediately next (ie version SPn). This is indicated by a build number of 5000 or greater for the hotfix. The hotfix content in this case will be available in the next service pack (ie. SPn + 1)

Upgrading an '140NOE771xx' from executive firmware version 2.0 to 3.0

      Goals and Symptoms

This procedure describes how to upgrade an 'NOE 771 xx' module from executive firmware version
      2.xx to version 3.0

      Facts and Changes

Upgrading an 'NOE 771 xx' from executive firmware version 2.xx to version 3.0 must be performed
using the instructions outlined in this resolution,

Note: If these instructions are not followed exactly, the 'NOE 771 xx'module will become inoperative
.and it will need to be sent back for repair.

      Causes and Fixes

Before the executive firmware for the 'NOE 771 xx' module can be updated:

      • The existing NOE executive firmware version must be at version 2.xx. If the firmware is not at
version 2.xx, it must be updated to version 2.xx before proceeding.
      • The CPU module must be in the 'STOP' mode and there must be no TCP/IP traffic going to
      the NOE.
      • Ensure that there will be no interruption to the power supply for the NOE module. ( A loss of
power during the upgrade process could cause the NOE module to become inoperable.)

The following software tools and BIN files are required for this procedure:
      • NOE77100 module
      Kernel: 77100KER.bin (version 3.00)
      executive firmware: NOE77100.bin (version 3.00)
      Web Loader version 2.2.2 SP2 (for NOE77100)
      • NOE77110 module
      Kernel: 77110KER.bin (version 3.00)
      executive firmware: NOE77110.bin (version 3.00)
      Web Loader version 2.2.2 SP2 (for NOE77110), or FactoryCast version 2.2.2 SP2

      • NOE77111 module
      Kernel: 77111KER.bin (version 2.00)
      executive firmware: NOE77111.bin (version 3.1)
      Web Loader version 2.2.2 SP2 (for NOE77111), or FactoryCast version 2.2.2 SP2
      • ExecLoader utility (This is supplied and installled with either Concept or ProWORX 32.)

To upgrade version 2.xx (excluding version 2.5x) to version 3.00, follow the steps below.
      • Backup the web page configuration files and any customized web pages

Note: Updating the executive firmware will cause all of the existing web pages to be lost.
This step is not required if you are upgrading from executive firmware version 2.5.

      • Download the applicable version 3.00 kernel BIN file (see Note) to the NOE device using the EXECLoader.

Note: After you see 'The transfer operation completed SUCCESSFULLY' message returned in the
the EXECLoader window, you must wait about 30 seconds to allow the NOE to automatically
reset itself. After this occurs, the state of the NOE will stay in the kernel mode with the 'KERNEL'
      LED flashing.)

The Kernel version 3.00 bin file for the 'NOE 771 10' is named '77110KER.BIN'
The Kernel version 3.00 bin file for the 'NOE 771 00' is named '77100KER.BIN'
The Kernel version 2.00 bin file for the 'NOE 771 11' is named '77111KER.BIN'
      • Download the applicable executive firmware version 3.00 BIN file (see Note) to the NOE device
      using the EXECLoader.

      Note:
The message 'The transfer operation completed SUCCESSFULLY' will get returned on the
EXECLoader window if this step is successful.

If you see the 'KERNEL' LED flashing on the NOE panel after 10 seconds following the
'The transfer operation completed SUCCESSFULLY' message getting returned,
      this step must be repeated.

The executive firmware version 3.00 BIN file for the 'NOE 771 10' is named 'NOE77110.BIN'
The executive firmware version 3.00 BIN file for the 'NOE 771 00' is named 'NOE77100.BIN'
The executive firmware version 3.1 BIN file for the 'NOE 771 11' is named 'NOE77111.BIN'
      • Download the 'WebLoader v2.2.2 SP2.zip' file and extract it to a folder (i.e., C;\WebLoader)
      • Install the Web version 2.2.2 SP2 (NOE77100, NOE77110 or NOE77111) using the Web Loader utility
named 'put771.bat'. The batch file 'put771.bat' is located in the WebLoader directory and must be run
      from DOS command prompt.

i.e., to run the batch file located in the 'C:\Web Loader' folder, type in the command followed by the
a space and the IP address of the NOE module.

      C:\WebLoader\put771 192.168.100.235)

Note: If the Factorycast Configurator is installed on the PC, it can also be used to download the
Web version 2.2.2 Service Pack 2 files to the 'NOE 771 10' module using the 'Restore
Defaults' function in FactoryCast version 2.2.2 Service Pack 2
      • Restore the web configurations and/or customized web pages backed up in Step 1, if applicable.
      • Reboot the NOE module using hot-swap procedure (lift the module off of the rack and place it back
      onto the rack..

ION Enterprise 5.6 builds 447 and 448 will not upgrade to SP2 on client machine, secondary server, or database server

This customer support bulletin identifies a potential issue with ION Enterprise 5.6 B447 and 448 when upgrading to Service Pack 2, and explains the resolution.
      Description:
There is a problem with the ION E 5.6 SP2 Installer when executed against builds 447 and 448 of ION Enterprise 5.6. The problem results in an upgrade installation failure when run on a client machine, secondary server or database server. The upgrade of a primary server will succeed When the SP2 install fails, the customer is left with the pre-existing version (5.6 or 5.6 SP1). This rollback will not appear to impact the function of the client, secondary or database server, but will leave the customer with a system where the primary is using a different version than the other machines; an unsupported configuration which may result in data and connection errors. We have determined that the stated builds were delivered during May, June and July 2007. The issue does not affect build 449, which has been in release since July 31st, 2007.

      Resolution:
A modified version of the service pack will be available for download from the website by October 13th, 2008, at 12:00 PM GMT. Any installation of Service Pack 2, whether by the customer or a proxy on behalf of the customer, must use the modified version. The modified version will work with build 449 as well.

      Workaround:
The following workaround is available for customers unable to wait for the modified version of the service pack. However, as the workaround involves shipment and end-customer delivery of a CD, it is likely that downloadable service pack will be available by the time the workaround can be implemented. In addition, there are steps which should be taken in the event the customer needs to upgrade a database server, and we strongly suggest tech support be contacted if this is the case.

      1. Verify the customer is using build 447 or 448 of ION Enterpise 5.6, as the following is not necessary if they are using build 449. To verify, open the file "ION Enterprise5.6Setup.log" on the client, secondary or database server. Note: If you have previously installed Service Pack 1, open the file called "ION Enterprise_5.6_SetupLog(1).log" instead. The build will be listed on the 15th line, and will resemble "OK (0) ION Enterprise 5.6 build 448".
      2. Request a new ION Enterprise 5.6 CD via PMC Technical Support. All new versions use build 449.
      3. Upon delivery, uninstall ION Enterprise 5.6.
      4. Re-Install using the delivered CD.
      5. Install Service Pack 2. At this point, the version of the service pack is not of consequence, as there is no issue with build 449.

How are preset speeds set up on the ATV312 drive?

      Issue:
How are preset speeds set up on the ATV312 drive?

      Product Line:
      Altivar 312

      Environment:
      All

      Cause:
      Preset speeds

      Resolution:

Preset speed function can be assigned two ways to Altivar 312.
      1) Logic inputs
      2) Communication networks

      1)Through Logic inputs

To assign preset speeds to altivar range of drives follow below path while operating JOG dial.

RDY--> Fun [Application Function]-->PSS- [Preset Speeds] -->PS2 [2 Preset speeds] = LIx. Here x refers to the available
      logic inputs number.

When this particular LIx is ON, SP2 (preset speed 2) reference will be considered.

Similarly, PS4, PS8 and PS16 can also be assigned to LIx to activate 4 preset speeds, 8 preset speeds and 16 preset speeds
      operation respectively.

      2)Through communication networks

      RDY-->CtL [Command Menu]-->LAC [Access Level]] = L3 [Level 3]

Assign any one bit from bit 11th to 15th of control word of particular communication network on which ATV312 is being used to
preset Speeds (PS2, PS4, PS8 or PS16). Communication network could be one out of Modbus, CANOpen, DevicNet or Profibus.
When assigned bit of control word is HIGH, corresponding preset speed function (PS2, PS4, PS* or PS16) will be activated and
accordingly SP2 to SP16 will come into effect.

No shutdown of WindowsXP with IE7 and Modbus driver of UnityPro

      Goals and Symptoms

No shutdown of WindowsXP with Internetexplorer V7.0, if the Modbus driver is installed (e.g. from CD Drivers V2.6 of UnityPro). The shutdown of windows is not possible, if you Log OFF a session and LOG ON the same session again:
      - You start windows (Modbus is visible in the status line of Windows)
      - You close the session (Log OFF)
      - You choose the session again

--> If you now choose Close (Log OFF) or Shut down, it doesn't work. You have to close the modbus driver for shutting down windows.

      Facts and Changes

Modbus driver e.g. from CD Drivers V2.6 or older
WindowsXP with SP1, SP2 or SP3 (Vista is not affected)
      Internetexplorer V7.0
