How To Update SCADAPack x70 Firmware & Bootloader

Under My Network, right-click on SCADAPack x70 Controller Settings -DeviceDTM and select Additional Functions > Update Device Firmware or Bootloader.
Select Update Device System firmware and click next
Select the latest firmware version for the list and click next. The process starts and it takes a while to complete.
The firmware file has a .biz file extension. By default, the firmware file is stored in one of the following directories:
64-bit systems: C:\Program Files (x86)\Schneider Electric\RemoteConnect\Firmware\SCADAPack XXX
32-bit systems: C:\Program Files\Schneider Electric\RemoteConnect\Firmware\SCADAPack XXX

- With a newer Micrologic P or H trip unit, you may reprogram the BCM module to 4w. This requires Micrologic trip unit firmware version 2010AK or newer.
- If the trip unit does not have this option or if it is an A trip unit, you may use a 2w to 4w converter, like CNV-100. See the attached instruction bulletin for more details.
- Schneider sales offices can also order a BCM programmed for 4w Modbus. Order the module number, 33106, in Q2C with a note that you want it programmed for 4w Modbus.
BCM 33106 profile is available only on Q2C Tool. Contact regional field offices to support order submission for customers who are unable to access Q2C.
What would cause the InF fault on the ATS48 softstarter?

InF displayed on the unit.
Resolution:
InF is an Internal fault. Try disconnecting the Control Voltage from CL1,CL2 terminals to see if the fault will reset.
This fault appears if the control board cannot determine the soft starts power rating from the information stored in the EEPROM memory chip on the power board.
Possible causes are:
- Loose ribbon cable connection on the Power board or the Control Board. Try remove the control board, check the plugs and pins. Reseat the control board back in place.
A few cases were observed in the field where the ribbon connector got loose due to vibration and caused this InF fault. The ribbon cable has to be reseated to fix the problem.
- The 24VDC is saturated. Remove all connections to +24 terminal and then measure the voltage.
- SCR is shorted. Check Resistance across each SCR.
- If another ATS48 unit is available, try swapping control boards to confirm if the issue stays with the board or the soft start.
- Power rating not recognized. Replace the Power board and/or Control board.

The SP333E was developed in 2013 as a special RTU model targeting the WWW industry. It is similar to the widely used SP334E. With the introduction of the SCADAPack 470 & 474, it is expected that the the SP333E will no longer be sold after 30th June 2021, since the new SP47x RTUs are more cost effective and are the latest series of RTUs. There are two simple and clear migration paths from the SP333E.Note that all other SCADAPack 3xx models (such as the SP334E, SP357E, etc.) will continue to be commercially available for a period of at least 2 more years (as of March 2021).

Substitution and Upgrade / Migration Paths for replacing the SP333E:A. Short-to-medium-term approach (Least Disruptive to the user):
Users can continue with the SCADAPack E-Series platform by simply substituting SP334E in place of SP333E. The SP333E is a subset of the SP334E and shares the same mechanical and electrical connections footprint. This makes substitution ultra-easy as this approach does not require any change to the existing SP333E Configuration files. The Schneider Electric R&D team have incorporated this modification to minimise any short-term inconvenience to present users of the SP333E; see details below:
To ensure continued, E-Configurator v8.18.1 adds a feature that allows the SCADAPack 334E to directly accept a configuration built for a SCADAPack 333E Smart RTU. This feature allows the SCADAPack 334E to be used as a drop-in replacement for the SP333E without the need to update and maintain new RTU configuration files or IEC 61131-3 logic (WorkBench6).
As mentioned earlier, from a hardware product perspective, the SP334E will continue to be commercially available for a period of at least 2 more years.

B. Medium-to-longer-term term approach (Most Beneficial to the user):
Users can upgrade to the recently released SP474 SCADAPack device which is based on the proven and highly beneficial RemoteConnect Software platform.
The SP474 shares the same mechanical and electrical connections footprint as the SP333E, but additionally provides many more IOs, Serial Comms & Ethernet ports in the same package; and this is being offered at a considerably lower price point. This upgrade makes technical and economic sense - a low-hanging fruit.
Programs developed in WorkBench / IsaGraf for the logic execution on the SP333E will need to be rewritten using the Modicon Control Expert (UnityPro) Logic, which is an intrinsic part of the RemoteConnect Software. This RemoteConnect Software is a single integrated tool that is used for both Configuration and Logic Programming of the SCADAPack 474 RTU and is available to users at no cost.
This option is definitely the recommended path as it provides major benefits with minimal disruption. This platform is being developed further and going forward, users can readily expect the following benefits with this upgrade:
- Enhanced Cybersecurity suite of features
- Remotely program 3rd party devices connected to the SP474 through the DTM library
- Enjoy peace of mind with a 15-year lifespan followed by a 7 year support period
- Compelling features planned for release in late 2021 include modular IOs, Hot Standby RTU Redundancy, Web browsing, and more...!

Exception: If the energizing voltage does not exceed 83% of the transformers nominal voltage, the transformer can be used. Remember that transformers are simple ratio devices and the output will also be lower. Another important factor to remember is that the transformer`s capacity will also have to be derated at the same ratio of the applied voltage divided by the nominal voltage.
Example: An EXN30T3H, 30kVA 480 delta to 208Y/120 transformer 60 Hz, can be utilized on a 50 Hz system as long as the applied voltage does not exceed 50/60 or 5/6 of the nominal 480, or rather 400 volts. With 400 volts 50 Hz applied, the output voltage will be 400/480 * 208 = 173 volts line-to-line, and 100 volts line-to-neutral, or 173Y/100 50 Hz. Use either a circuit breaker equipped with a shunt trip coil or an electromagnetic contactor. The isolation device must be capable of interrupting motor locked rotor current.
