                                                              Check voltage at the L1, L2 & L3 terminals.
Check for open circuits on line contactors, circuit breakers, disconnect switches, or fuses.

If NLP state does not change with correct voltage present on L1, L2, & L3, remove the control board and check for loose connections of ribbon cables inside the drive.
WARNING: This step should be performed while the drive is powered down, and proper personal protective equipment should be worn.

For example: In an ATV71HC25N4 a customer found a loose X3 connector from the control board to the board behind and above the control board. This connector was on a ribbon cable that was about 1 inch by 1 inch. Drive ran OK after this was reseated.

Is there a problem using Altivar 61 or Altivar 71 drives delta power system?

                                                              Resolution:
As long as the input voltage remains within the normal range there should not be a problem.
This should be treated the same way as an impedance grounded system.
Remove the jumper to the left of the power terminal.
See the section of the installation manual for Operation on an IT (Isolated or impedance grounded neutral) system for details.
See the drives installation manual for more information and location of the RFI's filter tab.

The keypad is located inside folded cardboard that also functions as packing material. Check inside all folded cardboard packing materials. There is no sticker to indicate that the keypad is inside.

ATV61 & ATV71 drives with the letter Z at the end of the part number do not include the removable LCD HMI keypad display. These units do have a simplified LED display and programming keys on the face of the control board itself. The removable LCD HMI keypad display may be installed on these units.

                                                              InF indicates an internal fault.
It can occur if there are loose connections inside the drive or if the drive is subjected to electromagnetic interference.  Check the line voltage to the drive.
Also, check the voltages on the control terminals, +10 to COM and 24V to COM.  It has been observed that improper wiring of the inputs or external potentiometer can overload the internal power supplies of the drive. This may result in InF fault.
Incorrect connections on the RJ45 ModBus/CANopen port can also cause this.  Verify wiring, particularly to pin 7 (10VDC supply for external keypad).

Resolution:   Verify that the logic input used for PS2 is not set to perform another function. For example, when ATV31 drive is configured for 3-wire control, LI4 will be set for JOG. The jog function will have priority.  If jog function is not required, JOG in the FUn menu needs to be set to nO.
The functions of each logic input can be verified in the SUP menu. Go to sub-menu LIA. Scroll to the desired input (LI1A, LI2A. . . ) Enter to see to what the function of the input is assigned. Scroll up and down to see if there are additional functions assigned.

This product is not stocked. Add 'S337' to the end of the catalog number and multiply the listed price by 1.2 to obtain new price. With this option, exposed copper is tinned, circuit boards are conformal coated in critical areas and plastics are treated to better withstand the corrosive nature of certain oils. This option is standard on 55kW/75HP @ 230 Vac and higher & 90kW/125HP @ 460 Vac and higher.

R1 is a programmable relay.  When programmed as the factory default, drive fault relay, R1A is closed and R1B is open when the controller is powered and not faulted. Both contacts will change state when the drive faults.

Relay R2 has two terminals to provide a NO contact, R2A & R2C.  This relay is also programmable.

Parameter HSP determines the maximum speed the drive can operate.  Parameter tFr determines the maximum value that HSP can be adjusted.

By default, tFr is set to 60Hz.  When changing the Motor Frequency - bFr this changes tFr to 72Hz.

To increase the maximum speed above 72Hz - Go to the drc menu and Set parameter tFr.  This can be adjusted up to 500Hz.  After saving the change, go to the SEt menu > HSP and adjust up to the desired speed.

If your motor is a specialty motor that is rated for a frequency other than 50Hz. or 60Hz. such as a 300Hz. rated spindle motor, change paramter FrS under the DRC menu to match the rated frequency of the motor.

Heat sink fan operation differs depending on the frame size of the drive:
                                                              - for size 2 to 5B drives, fans start when the drive thermal state reaches a temperature level --> THD parameter = 70%.  The fans turns off when drive thermal is less than 60%
                                                              - for size 6 to 8 drives and 690V range drives, the fans run when the run command is given or when the drive thermal is greater than or equal to 70% and turns off when the drive thermal is less than 60% and runs for 1 minute after the run command is removed.
                                                              - for size 9 to 15 drives and 690V range drives, the fans run when the run command is given or when the drive thermal is greater than or equal to 70% and turns off when the drive thermal is less than 60% and runs for 10 minutes after the run command is removed.

For example, an ATV61HD18M3X drive (size 6), the heatsink fan starts when a Run command is given.

Are the ATV61/71 high horsepower drives available without the DC choke?

                                                              For example:

Note that if a DC choke is not used, a jumper wire, of sufficient current capacity, must  be installed between the PA and PO terminals.  A good rule of thumb is to use the same size wire that is on the DC choke for the jumper wire.   Also, if the DC choke is not used, a 5% line reactor ahead of the drive is Mandatory.  Failure to use a 5% line reactor ahead of the drive if no DC choke is present can result in damage to the drive that warranty does not cover.
