My Wiser switches are not responding to being pressed or control via Wiser by SE, what can I do to troubleshoot the issue?

Begin by taking note of the product/s that are not responding and are they doing anything else different from normal operation? For example, is the backlight flashing in a sequence, does the product respond to three presses and shows the pairing led colouring and what colours are seen. If what is suggested below does not resolve the switches not responding these details can assist the Tech Support team in diagnosing what is occurring.

Once this has been taken note of begin by power cycling your Wiser Hub. This can be done by removing the micro-USB where it connects to the Hub or by turning off the power outlet that supplies power to the Hub. Leave it off for 10 – 15 seconds and then reconnect the Wiser Hub and wait until it completes its reboot procedure at the end of which only 2 LED indicators should be visible on the Wiser Hub. With LEDs at top of Hub - if connected with Ethernet cable (Right and Left Led will turn ON). If connect via WiFi (Middle and Right Led will turn ON)

If this fails to resolve the issue the product failing to respond may need to be power cycled itself. If confidant and able, access the switchboard that has the RCBO’s or Circuit breakers that supply power to the products. Turn the applicable supply off for 10 – 15 seconds and then turn this supply back on.

Note: If uncertain contact your installing electrician for the Wiser system who may advise what is supplying power to the Wiser products. If fuses are installed in your switchboard it is recommended to have your electrician remove the fuse and then re-fit after 10 – 15 seconds. Fuses can be extremely dangerous if not correctly handled by a qualified electrician.

If the switches are still unresponsive contact Tech Support via phone – Australia: 13 73 28 (13 SEAU) New Zealand 0800 652 999, email - techsupport.pz@se.com or via online chat through a link on our support page https://www.clipsal.com/clipsal-support/contact-us or https://www.pdl.co.nz/support

My Wiser Bluetooth device has Schedules set on the device from the Wiser Room app, but when I or someone else connects to the device, we cannot see them in the Wiser by SE app.

With the move from Wiser Room to Wiser by SE app, there is the addition of ‘Homes’. This is to support cloud based and many new system features. Hence it now requires a different way of having multiple users access a Bluetooth device.
Bluetooth Wiser mechanisms are now linked to a “Home” and device ID that is created when a device is registered and added to a home. Once a mechanism is added to a home those who want access to the device’s schedules and settings will need to be added as a member of the “Home”.
If they are not added as a member to the initial “Home”, simply adding the device to a new home will prevent the already saved schedules from being viewed or adjusted.
To add a new member to the “Home”, tap menu, (top left), then Home Management, then the home name, then Add Member and follow the prompts.

I am getting a message in Wiser by SE ‘Network Unavailable. Please check your phones network settings’ what does this mean for my control of the products?

This message occurs when there is no mobile data connection or a WiFi connection to your device. When this occurs, you will still be able to connect to your Bluetooth switches/dimmers as these just require Bluetooth to be enabled on your device. It will prevent access/control of Zigbee devices and IP Cameras as this requires access to the cloud/internet. Via WiFi, without internet, you may still get control of the Zigbee switches/dimmers but not the IP Cameras.

Which remote mechanism can be used with the 41E300PBUD2SM?

Both the 2-wire (41EPBM) and 3-wire (41EPBCLM) remote mechanisms can be used with the 41E300PBUD2SM. There is a difference in the functionality and how they work with the 41E300PBUD2SM.

When connected in a two-way situation with a 3-wire remote mechanism (41EPBCLM) the dimming settings can be changed from either mechanism but these settings will not be retained when turned on from the remote mechanism and will return to full brightness. The 3-wire remote mechanism has an integral LED indicator that can be used.

Using the 2-wire remote mech (41EPBM) will allow the setting of dimming levels from either mechanism and will retain dimming levels previously set when turned on from the remote mechanism. The 41EPBM does not have a LED indicator.

Why do I need to update my Iconic Bluetooth devices and why should I change to the Wiser by SE App?

It is highly recommended to update your Bluetooth devices to the latest firmware, this will ensure combability with the new Wiser by SE App. For Wiser compatible Bluetooth devices the firmware update will also allow them to be swapped into Zigbee mode. The Wiser by SE App provides enhanced security features, the ability to create and manage homes, the ability to use the Wiser Hub and create a Zigbee network with your Iconic Zigbee devices. Connecting with the Wiser Hub allows control from outside of your home as well as voice control, moments(scenes) and automation functions. Updating your App will give you access to the latest features available within the Iconic Wiser product range.

What are some ways I can save money on my home’s electricity bill?

We get asked this a lot – and rightly so. We all want to be as efficient with our energy and reduce our energy bills. Easy ways you can make immediate savings are:

  1. Installing LED lights – they use less energy, last longer and lower your environmental impact.
  2. Stop paying for standby power – even when your devices are on ‘standby mode’ they’re using power. If you’re not using them, turn them off.
  3. Check your devices’ eco settings – and turn them on! They’ll save power for you.

If you’re looking for a long-term solution, check out our Wiser Energy Management options or speak with your electrician about the best options for you. Installing Wiser Energy management solutions allows you to use the Wiser by SE app and keep track of your usage, maximise your solar, and save on bills.
