      It is NOT recommended to operate an ATV680 AFE on a 480V power system with a voltage unbalance of 4% to 7.5%. This is far outside the specification of the drive.
      The mains voltage must comply with the requirements according to IEC 60038 and EN 50160: 
      - Unbalance between phases: < 2 % 
      - Total harmonic factor THD(v): < 10 % 
      - Maximum single harmonic: < 5 %
      With this supply voltage the drive complies with the specified THDi value.
       
      If the voltage unbalance is 2 … 4% the drive will work but the THDi value will be higher than specified. A voltage unbalance of more than 4% will harm the drive. The input IGBT might overheat and/or the fuses might blow due to unsymmetrical input current. There is also a risk of oscillations if the voltage controller is not able to keep DC bus voltage constant.

       The error code Hex values of 5050, 5055 and 5056 are all similar Ethernet TCP errors. But they do identify where in the TCP connection process the error is occurring.

      The error 5050 Is defined as No Network resource. This is pretty much correctly stated. It indicates that the TCP stack does not have any resources free to open the TCP connection. It has a secondary cause in that the module internally, doesn't have a buffer to use to bring the message across from the backplane to the stack. This is that pool of resources that we refer to when we say the module has a pool of 64 connections that are shared between the client and the server functions.

      The error 5055 is defined as No Remote Resources- This indicates that the NOE tried to open a connection to the remote device (Target) and that device either did not respond or reset the connection. This also has the added issue that as the EF's keep executing for a device that is not present (not answering) The error will gradually propagate across all connections.

      Lastly, The error 5056 defined as Non Operational TCP connection. This is also pretty accurate. The module cannot establish a connection to the device. Often this is seen when a device is not present on the wire when the block starts. It tries to ARP for the address but gets no response or, it simply cannot establish a connection (Port 502 closed). This also can be seen if the Master and Remote Ip addresses are not on the same Network/Subnet address range.

      Where do I find the Coil voltage on the Tesys D 3 Pole AC Contactor?

      On the Tesys D 3 Pole AC Contactor you will find the coil voltage marked at the top, behind the Power terminals of the Contactor, for example U7, 240V 50/60 Hz

      For the DC Version, the coil voltage is marked on the front of the Contactor. Hence it has got complete part number for the Contactor on the front, for example: LC1D25BD for 24V DC Coil.

      Can a 60 Hz rated Transformer be energized with 50 Hz source?

      Issue:
      Transformers rated for 60 Hz ONLY are sometimes chosen to be installed in a location that has a 50 Hz Distribution system.

      Cause:
      Domestic (USA) power systems are rated 60 Hz.   Many other power systems in the world are rated at 50 Hz.

      Resolution:
      A 60 Hz rated transformer can only be used on a 60 Hz system (with certain exceptions -- read further.) Whereas a 50 or 50/60 Hz rated transformer can be used on either a 50 or a 60 Hz rated system.
      Exception: If the energizing voltage does not exceed 83% of the transformers nominal voltage, the transformer can be used. Remember that transformers are simple ratio devices and the output will also be lower. Another important factor to remember is that the transformer`s capacity will also have to be derated at the same ratio of the applied voltage divided by the nominal voltage.

      Example: An EE30T3H, 30kVA 480 delta to 208Y/120 transformer 60 Hz, can be utilized on a 50 Hz system as long as the applied voltage does not exceed 50/60 or 5/6 of the nominal 480, or rather 400 volts. With 400 volts 50 Hz applied, the output voltage will be 400/480 * 208 = 173 volts line-to-line, and 100 volts line-to-neutral, or 173Y/100 50 Hz. As well, the capacity or kVA of the transformer will be 400/480 * 30 = 25kVA. Transformers cannot change frequency, thus frequency in = frequency out.

      The apparent power capacity (or burden rating) doesn't really apply since these are voltage output devices (rather than current mode like traditional Current Transformers). This is one of the great advantages of voltage mode CT (the other being they don't need shorting blocks). The voltage mode CT has an internal burden resistor, usually tens of ohms or less. The input of the meter monitoring the voltage mode CT typically has an input impedance of tens of thousands of ohms or more in parallel with the CTs burden resistor (which can reduce the CTs output voltage very slightly). As long as the series resistance of the wire between the voltage mode CT and the meter is less than hundreds of ohms, the accuracy of the CT will be little affected. Voltage mode CT can drive a much longer wire run using smaller gauge wire than a traditional current mode CT.

      Note: A contactor with an AC coil can be changed to a different AC voltage coil, IE you can take an LC1D09 with a 120VAC coil and put a 24VAC coil in it instead. An AC device cannot be switched to a DC coil, and a DC device cannot be switches to an AC coil.

      There is an application with Altivar 38 with pump switching card where the auxiliary pump is driven by an Altistart 48.There is also Modbus connection where the master is a Twido PLC and the slaves are the ATV38 and the ATS 48. The problem is that en error ERR 7 (erreur LS) is appeared at the ATV38 display.What kind of error is that and what can we do about it?

      Causes and Fixes

      Product trips transiently to "Err3" or "Err7" fault. Both faults type are generated by the display module.
      This one communicates with the microprocessor of control card .
      When incorrect messages occur during the communication and after some repetition of exchanges , the display module shows to "ErrX".
      This is a very difficult fault to reproduce because depending of environment ( lenght of wire between display module and control board , motor running, disrupted site ) and the combination between display module and control board.

      Origin of problem :

      Insufficient immunity of communication facing the various disturbances.
      The communication frames managing is made by integrated components called "drivers". One is located on control board, the same is inside display module. This fault is the result of wrong interpretation of display module of logic level between two communication frames.
      This technical conceived problem is appeared from August 2000.

      Corrective action:

      This failure has been resolved by a modification of two values of resistors inside the display module.
      The revision levels become:
      · A20, B20 for the ATV58 display modules.
      · A02 for the ATV58Fdisplay modules.

      This evolution is applied from the week 47/2000 on all manufactured PRODUCTS and all VW3A58101 spare parts.


      Information for internal use:

      We have noticed that anyway neither control board nor display module have never been directly to the fault origin . Fault "Err X" is always due to the association of two items.

      On no account this failure cannot to disrupted the motor running but she can to disturb only the programming of product.

      If during the programming, a customer encounters to " Err3 " or " Err7 " with a product manufactured from the week 31/00 to 46/00 , it is advised to exchange only the VW3A58101 display module.

      This problem can also appear if the baudrate of internal communication was modified ( subD 9 pins ) and there is a difference between the keypad and internal modbus.

      A solution is to reset the inverter with the 50/60 Hz switch to return the baudrate in factory setting, don't forget to accord the Twido PLC.

      There are no plans for a general release of the Compact NSX breaker line in North America, since the NSX is not UL Listed to UL489. (UL 489 is the standard commonly required in the US.) In the US, the Powerpact Circuit Breakers should be used (Powerpact breakers are UL, CSA and IEC-rated).

      This firmware release supports EN50160:2010 (Edition 4) and IEC 61000 4-30 Edition 3. EN50160 is a European standard that defines the voltage characteristics of the electricity supplied by public distribution systems. The latest firmware version for this meter now supports the EN50160:2010 (Edition 4) standard. The IEC 61000-4-30 (4-30) standard defines methods for measurement and interpretation of power quality parameters in 50/60 Hz AC power supply systems. The standard describes measurement methods for relevant parameters to obtain reliable, repeatable and comparable results using any compliant meter. 
       
      V400 
      V400 is a general firmware release that adds support for new metering hardware. In addition this firmware release reduces the 7x50e and 7x50s variants into one allowing for IEC61850 and10Meg of logging memory to occur upon the same device. V400 adds compatibility for the -05 hardware revision option. This can be found as the last two digits of a meters serial number. V400 will NOT be compatible with previous versions of hardware ( -04 or earlier). In addition previous firmware revisions (pre V400) will not be compatible with the -05 hardware. We have consolidated the e (IEC61850) and s (standard) variants into one release. This means ALL devices ordered with V400 will now contain IEC61850 functionality as well as contain the 10M logging memory. Both features can be implemented in frameworks simultaneously. NOTE: To support the new features in v400, download the latest version of ION Setup from the website. 
       
      V401/374
      *The V374s version is the standard version. *The V374e version is for IEC61850 protocol support. This firmware is for the older hardware platform (RevA, if you like). The equivalent firmware for the RevB hardware platform is V401.

      Firmware version 360 (v360) for the ION7550/ION7650 adds IEC 61850 server functionality. This includes FTP support and the ability to save waveform data in COMTRADE format.

      Firmware version 355 (v355) and factory template 7550/7650_v355_FACPQ_V3.4.0.0.0 for the ION7550 / ION7650 adds International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) 61000-4-30 Class A Edition 2 standard compliance for the ION7550 / ION7650 and the ability to configure the event priority value for digital input state change events.

      Firmware version 350 (v350) for the ION7550 / ION7650 adds a number of new features as well as support for the new Communications Card.
      New features
      • Disturbance Direction Detection capabilities are now available.
      • Localization options have been added to the meter, including:
        • the ability to set the language of the front panel display to English, Spanish, French or Russian.
        • the option to customized IEEE/IEC convention settings.
      • Setpoint learning functionality has been added. 
      • The meter can function as a Modbus gateway, forwarding Modbus packets from a master through the meter to downstream serial devices.
      • Trending and Forecasting functionality has been added.
      • The meter can now communicate selected values over the Ethernet via SNMP.
      • Support for a new communications card has been added.
      • A default IP Address has been added. For more information on these features, see the relevant sections in this document.
      Other changes
      • Power Availability has been removed from the default template.
      • V4, I4, I5 waveform recorders have been removed from the default template.

      V321
      Firmware version 321 features enhanced Modbus Mastering with four ION modules new to the ION 7550 /ION 7650 platform. The Modbus Master Device and Modbus Master Mapping modules work together to offer improved setup of Modbus read functionality. The Averaging module provides simple averaging and easily links with other Modbus modules. The Modbus Master Options module allows multiple serial connections to different loops of Modbus devices.
      Advanced meter security provides an additional layer of security, allowing you to configure up to 16 users, each with unique access rights to the meter. Access rights consist of different security levels, permitting different users to read values, perform resets, time sync the meter clock, or configure meter settings.
