How to eliminate historic data duplicates or errors for a point from within ViewX

The example below is intended to demonstrate one or more features or methods and is presented as a configuration example only. Schneider Electric assumes no liability for the use or application of this example or any portion thereof. 

Sometimes you may want to eliminate historic data duplicates or errors for a point. An easy way to do that from within ViewX is to create a button with a pick action method animation that will invoke the "Optimize data" method.
1- Create button on a mimic:


2- Double click on the button and select "Pick Action":


3- Select "Method" and click "Next":


4- Browse for the point object, select "Historic" as Aggregate and "Optimize data" as "Method", then click "Next":


5- Click on "Next" then "Finish" to end the configuration.

Now you can save the mimic, put the mimic in "Runtime" and click on the button. The "Optimize data" method will be triggered for that particular point.

Cause
Templates can only be uploaded if the modules in the template match those on the meter. The modules on the meter are determined by the firmware.
For example, if a customer changes from v371e firmware (with IEC 61850 implementation) to v371s firmware (without IEC 61850 implementation), they will be unable to upload their previous template.

Resolution
Install the default meter template (you will lose all existing configurations).
 

How to configure Archiving in ClearSCADA and Geo SCADA?

This article contains information on setting up archiving. For more details about archiving please check the product manual.
Configuring archiving is a two step process. It requires certain changes to be done in the server configuration as well as in the database configuration.
To configure archiving please do the following:
  • Launch Server Configuration and navigate to Historic Configuration > Historic Data. Make sure the Archive After is checked and the correct number of weeks is entered. For more details about his option please refer to the product manual. 
  • Once Archive After is enabled, create an Archive object in ClearSCADA or Geo SCADA database. Below is an example of such configuration. 
  • This configuration is sufficient to be able to trigger archiving manually. To automate the archiving process, Schedule can be used as one of the options.

When opening the diagram for the PM8000 from Vista in IONE 6.0.1, it displays the following error " A generic Diagram for the Selected device cound not be found.

The PM8000 folder does not get intalled on the registry under HKEY_ LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Schneider Electric\ION Enterprise\6.0\DeviceInfo

Resolution
*Warning: This article contains information about editing the registry. Improper changes to the registry can permanently damage the operating system. Always backup the registry before making any changes.*
The registry will look different fom a 32bit than a 64bit system. In order for this process to work, the server and the client need to both be 32bit or 64bit systems.
Click on Start and type REGEDIT to open the registry
ON the Server machine, go to HKEY_ LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Schneider Electric\ION Enterprise\6.0\DeviceInfo
Find the PM8000 folder, right click and select Export and save the file.
Copy this PM800 regisry file to the client workstations and and run it by double clicking on the file.

This firmware release supports EN50160:2010 (Edition 4) and IEC 61000 4-30 Edition 3. EN50160 is a European standard that defines the voltage characteristics of the electricity supplied by public distribution systems. The latest firmware version for this meter now supports the EN50160:2010 (Edition 4) standard. The IEC 61000-4-30 (4-30) standard defines methods for measurement and interpretation of power quality parameters in 50/60 Hz AC power supply systems. The standard describes measurement methods for relevant parameters to obtain reliable, repeatable and comparable results using any compliant meter. 
 
V400 
V400 is a general firmware release that adds support for new metering hardware. In addition this firmware release reduces the 7x50e and 7x50s variants into one allowing for IEC61850 and10Meg of logging memory to occur upon the same device. V400 adds compatibility for the -05 hardware revision option. This can be found as the last two digits of a meters serial number. V400 will NOT be compatible with previous versions of hardware ( -04 or earlier). In addition previous firmware revisions (pre V400) will not be compatible with the -05 hardware. We have consolidated the e (IEC61850) and s (standard) variants into one release. This means ALL devices ordered with V400 will now contain IEC61850 functionality as well as contain the 10M logging memory. Both features can be implemented in frameworks simultaneously. NOTE: To support the new features in v400, download the latest version of ION Setup from the website. 
 
V401/374
*The V374s version is the standard version. *The V374e version is for IEC61850 protocol support. This firmware is for the older hardware platform (RevA, if you like). The equivalent firmware for the RevB hardware platform is V401.
 
V373​
Firmware V373 is a general firmware release that adds support for the following features: (1) Access to more voltage data (2) Enhanced interharmonic distortion calculation (3) Display module enhancements (4) initial release of the PowerLogic Remote Display and also includes security enhancements. NOTE: For more detailed information about any of these features, please find the document entitled "What’s new in ION7550/ION7650 v373" (7EN12-0276-00). In preparation for upgrading your meter's firmware please download the latest firmware version (.upg file) and the appropriate Meter Template (.dcf file). Note that releases of Meter Template files often do not keep pace with firmware releases so do not be concerned if the firmware version number in the label of latest available template file is not as high as the version number of the firmware file. The main thing is to get the latest available file for each of firmware and template. ION Setup (freeware utility) is the recommended tool for the firmware upgrade process. See the Upgrading ION Device Firmware technical note for complete details.

Firmware version 366 (V366) for the ION7x50 adds Modbus mastering over TCP support for up to 10 connections. This is in addition to the 8 available Ethernet connections and is also in addition to the Modbus master functionality in both serial ports. This release also includes various communications bug fixes. When upgrading your meter's firmware please download the latest firmware version (.upg file) and the equivalent Meter Template (.dcf file). You can upgrade meter firmware using ION Setup or ION Enterprise. See the Upgrading ION Device Firmware technical note for complete details
Important Notes from V360 (applicable to V366): * Two versions of V360 firmware are available below: with IEC 61850 implementation (7x50V360e) and without IEC 61850 implementation (7x50V360s). * IEC 61850 can only be purchased on 5MB meters, not 10MB meters. If you upgrade a 10MB meter to use IEC 61850 firmware (7x50V360e), the meter’s logging memory will be reduced to 5MB. If the meter is subsequently loaded with non-IEC 61850 firmware (7x50V360s), the meter’s original logging memory will be restored.* The non IEC 61850 firmware version (7x50V360s) still has new features available, such as COMTRADE waveform recording.* To find ICD files related to the IEC61850 implementation on ION7x50 meters, search the keyword icd on any schneider-electric.xxx site

Firmware version 360 (v360) for the ION7550/ION7650 adds IEC 61850 server functionality. This includes FTP support and the ability to save waveform data in COMTRADE format.
 
V355
Firmware version 355 (v355) and factory template 7550/7650_v355_FACPQ_V3.4.0.0.0 for the ION7550 / ION7650 adds International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) 61000-4-30 Class A Edition 2 standard compliance for the ION7550 / ION7650 and the ability to configure the event priority value for digital input state change events.
 
V350
Firmware version 350 (v350) for the ION7550 / ION7650 adds a number of new features as well as support for the new Communications Card.
New features
  • Disturbance Direction Detection capabilities are now available.
  • Localization options have been added to the meter, including:
    • the ability to set the language of the front panel display to English, Spanish, French or Russian.
    • the option to customized IEEE/IEC convention settings.
  • Setpoint learning functionality has been added. 
  • The meter can function as a Modbus gateway, forwarding Modbus packets from a master through the meter to downstream serial devices.
  • Trending and Forecasting functionality has been added.
  • The meter can now communicate selected values over the Ethernet via SNMP.
  • Support for a new communications card has been added.
  • A default IP Address has been added. For more information on these features, see the relevant sections in this document.
Other changes
  • Power Availability has been removed from the default template.
  • V4, I4, I5 waveform recorders have been removed from the default template.

Firmware version 321 features enhanced Modbus Mastering with four ION modules new to the ION 7550 /ION 7650 platform. The Modbus Master Device and Modbus Master Mapping modules work together to offer improved setup of Modbus read functionality. The Averaging module provides simple averaging and easily links with other Modbus modules. The Modbus Master Options module allows multiple serial connections to different loops of Modbus devices.
Advanced meter security provides an additional layer of security, allowing you to configure up to 16 users, each with unique access rights to the meter. Access rights consist of different security levels, permitting different users to read values, perform resets, time sync the meter clock, or configure meter settings.
