On a BCM configured for 4w Modbus, if jumpers are placed between E3 and E5, and between E4 and E6, and the mode is set to 4w on the trip unit, it will work as 2w without ULP.

Breakers shipped November 2015 and after have BCM's configured for 2w + ULP.  Date code approx. 15441 and later.

This question has come up because NEC 450-21(b) requires Transformers larger than 112.5 kVA to be installed in fire resistant construction unless the insulation class is 155 or higher.

The insulation system of a Transformer is rated in degrees Celsius at its maximum temperature rating (the Class number = the degree C of the insulation system; example, a Class 220 insulation system is rated for 220°C) Transformers have either a Class 220 (former designation "H") Class 180 (former designation "F",) Class 150 (former designation "B") or Class 105 (former designation "A") Some smaller manufacturers may also use a Class 200 (former designation "R").

The temperature rise of a Transformer is the average temperature rise that will occur in the coils during normal full load.

The insulation system <> standard temperature rise relationships are:
Class 220 <> 150 degree Celsius rise
Class 180 <> 115 degree Celsius rise
Class 150 <> 80 degree Celsius rise
Class 105 <> 50 degree Celsius rise

A Transformer with a Class 220 insulation system can be designed for a maximum temperature rise that is lower than the standard 150 degree Celsius. It can be designed for either 115 or 80 degree Celsius rise. As well, a Class 180 insulation system Transformer can be designed with 80 degree Celsius rise. Class 150 and 105 transformers are not typically designed for other than their standard temperature rise.

Since all Square D low voltage dry type Transformers larger than 112.5kVA are built with a 220 degree Celsius insulation system, exception #2 under NEC 450-21(b) applies.

Thru Feed Lugs are typically for Main Breaker panels and are located at the end of the panel opposite the main breaker. They are directly connected to the bussing and are used for feeding out without the use of any breaker spaces in the panelboard. Any load connected to these lugs will be protected by the main breaker of the panel.

Error Restoring SQL2000 database backup on SQL Server 2012

The database was backed up on a server running version 8.00.0760. That version is incompatible with this server, which is running version 11.00.3128.

Resolution:
You will need to restore the database on an instance of SQL Server 2005, 2008 or 2008 R2 first, then back it up from there, then restore the new backup on SQL Server 2012.



Will swapping out my meter cause database problems?

No. By using the identical IP address and not changing the Managment Console settings, you will prevent database issues such as duplicate date or time stamps. This is due to ION Enterprise's intelligent meter swapping ability, which is basicly described as:
ION Enterprise has data from MeterA upto TimeX (where TimeX is when MeterA was removed).

  • i.e. a 7650 called GEN1 is removed at 1:00PM
MeterB is connected to the system using the same profile in Management Console.
  • i.e. another 7650 called GEN1 is installed which is already full of data at 2:00PM
ION Enterprise will disregard all data from MeterB prior to TimeX, and only record new data from after TimeX.
  • i.e. the database will contain data from MeterA up until 1:00PM, but will contain MeterB data from 1:15PM on. Even if MeterB is installed at 2:00PM, it will send any exisiting data it has (back until 1:00PM) back to the database.

Does the time or clock on a Circuit Monitor or Power Meter change during Daylight Savings Time (DST)?

Issue
Meters do not show the correct time and/or reset their time automatically to an incorrect time (one hour off) in SMS, ION, SPM, and/or PME.

Cause
PowerLogic Circuit Monitors (CM2000, CM3000, CM4000) and Power Meters (PM200, PM700, PM800, PM5000) do not take into account Daylight Savings Time (DST) on board the meter. When the data is read into software (SMS, ION, SPM), the time is adjusted.
During DST, if the local time is 2:00PM, the CM or PM will read 1:00PM on the front display.

Resolution
The software will make the approrpiate time corrections on data displayed and logged, but the individual meters will reset to show the time without adjustment for daylight savings. The software time will be correct during daylight savings, but the meter will show one hour difference at the meter display.

How do I Monitor Analog Input Over-Under Range conditions on a SCADAPack 350?

Only the Scadapack models 314, 334 and 357 (only AI on the 5606 Lower IO board) have register assignments that monitor the out-of-range status for analog inputs.

The only way to monitor if an analog input has failed, would be to monitor the raw input and look for a zero or full scale value.

For a SP350 using a 5V/20mA register assignment and a 4-20mA input:
The screnshot below shows logic that scales the raw value of input 30001 to produce a scaled value in register 40110 (in mA)

With the 5V/20mA register assignment, a count of 32767 will appear when seeing a full scale value or an out of range value. In either scenario, the mA reading will never go above 20mA which is why the threshold has been set to 19.99mA.

For a SP350 using a 10V/40mA register assignment and a 4-20mA input:

The screnshot below shows logic that scales the raw value of input 30001 to produce a scaled value in register 40110 (in mA)

With the 10V/40mA register assignment, register 30001 can now measure beyond 20mA so it is now possible to tell a full scale value apart from an out of range value. Full scale 20mA now corresponds to a raw input value of 16384. The logic is looking for an out of range condition when it sees 20.01mA or greater.

Each of these drives have the VZ3V665 heat sink fan which is the larger fan located in the bottom of the unit. The NMB part number for this fan is 5915PC-23T-B30.
Each of these drives have the VZ3V6654 power board stirring fan which is a small fan located in the upper left side of the unit.
Only the ATV66D54N4U, ATV66D64N4U, ATV66D79N4U and ATV66D46M2U drives also have a VZ3V6655 capacitor bank fan located above the power terminal block.

These drives are the Frame Size 4 and Frame Size 5 ATV66.

The part numbers are listed on page 98 (page 104 in Adobe Acrobat) of the VD0C06S304E Receiving, Installation and Sart Up manual in Appendix A - Spare parts list.  The part # for the fans of the other size units is also listed in this table.

Inserting the keytag or card into the switch activates selected circuits to operate lighting, air-conditioning, television, radio and other appliances. User may have need to access ION Database backups on another machine. 

Resolution

Note: This procedure will overwrite an active database with a backup; you will need to have performed at least one backup. It is recommended that you create a backup of the current database prior to performing these steps.

Using SQL Server 2012:
  1. From the backup machine, copy the .BAK file from \config\cfg\DBBackups\Data\ to the new machine.
  2. Open SQL Server Management Studio
  3. Right-Click the Databases folder > Restore Database
  4. In the Restore Database window select Device and click the right-hand box labeled "..." to select the desired backup instance
  1. Click "Add" and navigate to the location of the .bak file, and then select 'OK'.
  1. The Restore Database window should then be populated similar to the image below.
  2. Select 'OK' to restore the backup.


Using PME 7.2.x or PME 8.0
Databases can also be restored using the Database Manager located in Management Console.
  1. From the backup machine, copy the .BAK file from \config\cfg\DBBackups\Data\ to the new machine.
  2. Open Management Console > Tools > Database Manager
  3. Right-click on "Databases"
  4. Select "Restore..."
  1. In the Restore Database window, select that desired backup instance.
  2. Verify that the "Restored database name" is ION_Data.
Note: The Database Statistics indicates the number of connections using the selected database. Ensure that the number of connections is 0, and the ION services have been stopped.

The Niobrara QUCM is a user prgrammable communication module for a Modicon TSX Quantum
Automation Series PLC. The user may write applications to be loaded into the QUCM to communicate
with serial and/or Ethernet devices. Applications are written as a text file in a "BASIC" like language
developed specifically for writing serial protocols. The Applications are compiled and downloaded into
FLASH memory in the QUCM. Up to two Applications may be loaded in the QUCM and ran at the
same time. Each Application has access to both serial ports, the Ethernet port (optional), and the Quantum
Backplane registers Each Application may have up to 8 parallel tasking threads. Prewritten
applications
are also offered to cover some of the more common protocols including Modbus RTU and
ASCII, SY/MAX, SY/MAX NettoNet,
POWERLOGIC PNIM, RNIM Master and Slave, and IDEC.
The QUCM interfaces to the Quantum PLC as an I/O module and is thus permitted to be used in the
Local (CPU rack), Remote (RIO), or Distributed (DIO) I/O racks1. The QUCM is Traffic Copped as an
analog module with up to 32 Input (3xxxxx) registers and 32 Output (4xxxxx) registers, or as a discrete
