What type of LED's can be used on C-Bus Dimmers?

Firstly you will need to confirm whether your C-Bus system contains C-Bus Leading Edge Dimmers or C-Bus Universal Dimmers, You may need to consult with your EcoXpert in Light and Room Control which one(s) you have if unsure. 

The general recommendations for LED compatibility with C-Bus Dimmers is as follows
1) Ensure your LED's have a dedicated LED Driver (electronic transformer) that supports your C-Bus Dimmer type
2) Bench test that the LED Driver is of good quality and works as expected at your site
3) C-Bus Dimmer channels require >25W of load if less is connected to a specific channel that channel will require the addition of a 31LCDA (Load Corrective Device)

4) If the dimming range of the LED fittings is specified by the manufacturer - the installer can programmer the Min/Max settings of the C-Bus Dimming channel to match the LED fittings dimming range.

Note:
C-Bus Leading Edge Dimmers will require LED's which have electronic transformers (LED Driver) which support Leading Edge AC phase control dimming (as noted in the compatible loads section of the installation manual)

C-Bus Universal Dimmers will require LED's which have electronic transformers (LED Driver) which supports Trailing Edge AC phase control dimming (as noted in the compatible loads section of the installation manual).
Although Universal Dimmers can support leading OR trailing edge AC phase control dimming it needs to be exclusively one or the other (NOT BOTH). As such LED Drivers which note LE/TE LED Driver are NOT suitable for the Universal Dimmer.

IMPORTANT: Clipsal by Schneider Electric & Schneider Electric DO NOT make LED's which are compatible with C-Bus NOR can we recommend specific LED Drivers for your C-Bus Dimmer type as LED Dimming and Driver technology is continually changing. The above is a guideline to assist you choose a compatible LED with dedicated LED Driver that supports your dimmer in question. As noted above please have your EcoXpert in Light and Room Control bench test LED Fittings and LED Driver for suitability on your C-Bus Network.  

My lights won't dim correctly on a C-Bus Leading Edge Dimmer?

Does this installation have 3 Phase power??

If so, check that the 'Control' side and the 'Switching' Side of the Leading Edge Dimmer are connected on the same voltage phase! You are not able to have a separate voltage phase on either of these connections as this unit is not internally connected...

If this installation is a single phase configuration, check the Lighting Driver to make sure this is dimmable and is a Leading Edge driver.

Some poor quality Lighting Drivers will result in a staggered or erratic dimming experience, we'd suggest trying other brands of drivers in this case, if the driver is built into the light fitting itself then we'd suggest trying a whole new fitting.
