GeoSCADA Server with Embedded ViewX Client License Activation

The following two steps will enable your Geo SCADA server along with the accompanying ViewX Client that is embedded within the server for usage on the same host machine as the server. Please note that the embedded ViewX client within the server needs to be activated separately using the same license file.

Step One – Server Activation:

  • Save the attached License File onto your computer (It is suggested that you save your license file in the same folder as the Geo SCADA installation)
  • Start the Geo SCADA server using the Service Manager or by right clicking the server icon in the bottom right of the screen and selecting Start Server.
GS Service Manager
  • Right click on the server icon and select ‘License Details’ from the pop-up menu to view the following window:
License Details
  • Click Change to browse to the license file that was provided by the TRSS licensing team and saved to your hard drive per previous instructions.
  • Select file and click open:
  • Double check that license features such as point size, web client and/or applicable drivers are listed in their respective fields.
Please note: the ‘0’ within the ViewX client field is a default setting that will not affect the enabling of the embedded ViewX client in the upcoming section. If server side floating ViewX clients have been purchased for Geo SCADA, this is where the purchased quantity will appear.

Step Two – Embedded ViewX Client Activation:

Important Note - Before proceeding with the following procedure, please ensure that the ViewX client is closed.
  • Click the Windows Start Menu, highlight EcoStruxure Geo SCADA and select Configure Connections.
  • The Geo SCADA ‘Client Dialog’ will appear - Click on the ‘Licenses’ button:
Configure Connections > Licenses
  • The following screen will appear:
Client Licensing
  • Click the browse button (… right of the license file field) and browse to the same file used to activate the server in the previous step.
  • Select file and click open.
  • Click on “Apply” and then click “Refresh”. The license should now show as valid.
  • Click on the OK button and close the ‘Client Licensing’ dialog.
  • (Re)start the ViewX client by clicking the ViewX icon on your desktop.
If at this point you are receiving an error message stating “insufficient licenses available for client” you want to make sure that your Geo SCADA Client Configurator has the “Use Client Licensing” option showing a checkmark.

Why does the Unit Indicator on C-Bus output units i.e L5512RVF/L5508D1A flashing?

This indicator shows the status of the individual unit. A continuous green light (OK) indicates the mains power is connected. If the indicator is flashing it means that any one of the four channels has been toggled (using the override facility) into a state different to the C-Bus network.

If any of the output channels have been toggled (using override facilities) into a state other than is present on the C-Bus network, this indicator will flash with a 90% on duty cycle.

Why is the power switch labeled OFF/AUTO on the Wiser Smoke Alarm?

The Power switch on the Wiser Smoke Alarm is marked OFF/AUTO because the device turns off when it is removed from it's mounting base and when reinstalled it turns on Automatically.

Can the Wiser Smoke Alarm integrate into Automations?

When used as part of a Wiser smart home system the Wiser Smoke Alarm can Integrate into Wiser Automations (e.g. to turn all house lights on if smoke is detected)

What happen when the C-Bus Indicator on output units flashes

This indicated that the C-Bus network had in-sufficient power(mA) to support the C-Bus network.

I.e If a network is connected, which has more current consumed than the power supplies can support, then this indicator will flash to show a marginal network voltage.

Quick solution is to add a stand alone power supply i.e 5500PS which will put (250 mA) to the existing network

How do you put a CBUS Dimmer i.e L5508D1A into remote Override Mode?

All Channels On
All channels Off

Remote control of all channels on a unit can be achieved via the extra pairs of conductors on the C-Bus connector. The diagram below shows switches may be connected in parallel on any one network, using Green and Green/White conductors for the remote ON function. Brown + Brown/White may be wired in the same fashion for remote OFF; with these conductors being connected to C-Bus negative, via the switch to action this state. A Clipsal 30/1/2LM mechanism makes an ideal remote input switch.

Note: C-Bus is a balanced network and therefore at any point where C-Bus negative (-) is taken, C-Bus positive (+) must also be present. Hence, both network conductors must be looped through all remote input switches on the network.
