1- Open the Compare Setup utility. From the main toolbar, go to UTILITIES then COMPARE.
2- Under the Compare Options, select what you want to compare. Or, click the TOGGLE button to select all the compare options.
3- In the “Compare” and “To” option boxes, click the two BROWSE buttons to select the project databases.
4- Click the OK button to start the compare utility.
5- The Compare Results will be shown. A check mark indicates a match. An “X” indicates a mismatch.
6- You can further click on the mismatch options to get full details on what mismatches occurred between the two projects. In this example the only mismatch was the PLC type – Quantum 11302 vs 11303.

Goals and Symptoms

A customer will connect several motors in parallel for conveyor application, and they will be driven by a ATV68C23N4. However, the total motors' rating current is less than ATV68C23N4's current. How to setup the motor data in Menu B3 for this case? Is there any particular parameter setting need to be configured for this motor parallel case?

Causes and Fixes

For this application there is some restrictions :

- need to have same motors
- same cabe lenght for each motor

However, for the B3 menu :
B3.00 = global power ( sum of motors )
B3.01 = global current
B3.02 = nominal voltage
B3.03 = nominal frequency
B3.04 = nominal speed
B3.05 = nominal network voltage

And make a tune only if you have exactly same motors.

How do I adjust the acceleration and deceleration rate of Lexium 28 when controlled via CANopen?

When writing a PLC program to control Lexium 28 via CAN you will notice that the function blocks for position movements do not include an input for acceleration and deceleration, leading to the question of how to adjust these values.

The LXM28 library does not include a function block specifically for writing to the "ramp profiles".

If the ramps only need to be written once then you can modify the default values which are written in the "ServiceDataObject" at 6083 and 6084.  
The default values are written at 4266666667, which likely result in very stiff movements.

You may also optional map these items to the empty RPD, for example, mapping 6083 and 6084 to RPD04 or change the mapping of RPD02 or RPD03.

The recommended and most commoly used method is to write to these two parameters via SDO using the MC_WriteParemeter FB.

How to write data in an ION Meter configured as a Modbus Slave

End user would like to write data to any ION Meter that is configured as a modbus slave

Cause:
The ION meter configured as Modbus slave can easily provide data to its master using Modbus slave modules. It doesn't make any difference if the master is another ION meter (using "Modbus Master Device" modules) or a third party product. This articles detail the actions for the slave ION meter to receive information from the master.
 
Resolution
ION Modules offer the availability for a slave meter to accept inputs. To do so, create External Pulse, External Boolean or External Numeric modules, depending on the type of information you need to import. All these "External" modules are available over Modbus. The map is given in the "Common_Modbus_Registers.pdf", starting on page 27. These modules can be modified over Modbus the same way as in a Vista diagram.
For example, to trigger the "External Pulse #1", write the number "1" at the Modbus address 42001.
 
To change the value of the "External Boolean #1", the address is 42201. Write "0" to turn to OFF state, and write "1" to turn to ON state.
 
To write a value in "External Numeric #1", simply write a value at the Modbus registers 42301 and 42302. The number needs to be in Signed Integer 32-bits format (42301 is the high order word, 42302 the low order word).
 
Note: Standard Security must be disabled for changes be made to the meter. If Standard Security is enabled, a "Modbus Exception # 3 - Illegal Data" message will be received when trying to write the register.
