What is the purpose of MCR parameter when commissioning ATV320 with Permanent Magnet Synchronous motor (PM SYNC)?
25 October 2021The attached document provides steps for commissioning an ATV320 drive with Permanent Magnet synchronous motor. The document talks about adjusting MCR parameter (step 3) for improved static and dynamic response.
MCR is the level of current injection to perform the angle test. If the motor is able to start with default settings, it is ok, no need to adjust it. This parameter is useful in case of a medium or high saliency motor (LDS <> LQS), meaning that it can help to find the right angle if the position of the rotor is bad (due to the saliency, the rotor and the magnets inside are not homogeneous following the angle, so different fluxing).
