Will the Connexium switch 499NxS17100 take an IP address from the bootplt application?

Yes, Bootplt will assign a temporary IP address to the switch as long as you do not power cycle the switch when bootplt tells you to. The reason for this is because if you power cycle the switch, it breaks the TCP connection to the switch and bootplt will time out. This is very handy when a customer does not have a V.24 cable to connect up with the switch to assign an IP address. Once Bootplt has assigned an IP address then you can open a web browser and type in that IP address to get to the switches embedded web pages where you can configure and save the permanent IP and TCP configurations.
