On the new Push button and Rotary push dimmers, why is there a slight delay for the light to come on after push button or knob is pressed?

A 1-2 second turn on time is normal behaviour for these dimmers. It is due to the dimmer’s 20 min ramp up/down timer and multiway dimming features. When the button is pressed, the dimmer starts to look for a second press (e.g. double press), once it determines there is a double press or not, it then engages the output and multiway communication. If a longer delay is experienced, enabling the mini-kick start feature may reduce the turn on time at lower dimmer settings.
