How does authentication work when an EVlink Parking charger is connected to a CPO and requires app-based authorization?

FAQ000278668

04 December 2025

Issue:

How does authentication work when an EVlink Parking charger is connected to a CPO and requires app-based authorization?

Product Line:

EVlink Parking Charger

Environment:

EVlink Parking chargers integrated with Charge Point Operator (CPO) systems requiring app authentication.

Resolution:

When the EVlink Parking charger is connected to a CPO and authentication is required via the app, the charging process involves two authorization stages:

• Flap Access Authorization: The CPO must authenticate to allow the flap to open for cable connection. Once authorized, the green button on the charger flashes. Pressing it opens the flap.

• Charging Session Authorization: After the cable is connected, the CPO must authenticate to start the charging session.

Recommended Best Practice:

• Plug the charging cable into your EV first.

• Then start the charging session on the EVlink Parking charger interface.

• Be ready to quickly connect the cable to the charger plug as soon as the charger is ready.

Important Note:

• The 10-second limit for connecting the cable after initiating the session is fixed and cannot be modified.

• If the session times out, you will need to restart the charging process.
