A Decade of Grit and Getting Things Done
For Steph and Chris Gee, 2025 marks a special milestone — 10 years in business. What began as two sparkies determined to back themselves has grown into a trusted Tassie electrical business built on people, word of mouth from satisfied customers and a passion to be the solution to people’s problems.
When asked what they love most about being electricians, Steph and Chris say the answer is simple: variety and people. “I honestly like that I’m outside a lot more,” says Steph. “I love meeting different people and working with so many trades on site.”
For Chris, the reward is in the workmanship: “My favourite thing is giving people the result they’re after — being the solution to their problem.”
Club Clipsal: A Community Within a Community
Steph and Chris have been part of Club Clipsal from day one, and for them, it’s more than a loyalty program — it’s a genuine community.
“The electrical industry in Tassie is already tight, but Club Clipsal feels like a community within a community,” says Steph. “It doesn’t matter whether you’re a two-person business or have hundreds of employees — everyone is treated the same.”
Steph also plays a bigger role, serving on the Club Clipsal Advisory Board, representing sparkies across Australia. “We look at what different groups of electricians need and bring that to the big table.
Clipsal Favourites? — Solis & MAX9
When it comes to choosing gear, both sparkies have their go-to Clipsal favourites to Clipsal favourites.
Steph’s pick? “The Clipsal Solis range — it’s just beautiful. We’re building a house soon, and it’s definitely going in!”
Chris’ favourite sits on the opposite end of the installation: “The MAX9 switchboard system with the new breakers — super easy to use, clean, and efficient.”
Customers, they say, trust the Clipsal brand because of its Australian heritage and reputation. “It’s a very trusted brand in Australia — and it suits modern homes of Australia.”
Riding the Wave of a Transforming Industry
Both sparkies believe the electrical industry is standing on one of the biggest changes it has ever seen. “This industry is sitting on the top of a huge wave — a once-in-a-century shift,” Chris explains.
Home automation, EV charging, energy management — these aren’t niche add ons anymore. They’re mainstream needs for modern customers looking to future proof their homes and save money.
SM and CM Gee Electrical has leaned into this shift and are educating customers about the long-term savings and lifestyle benefits that come with modern electrical solutions.

Steph and Chris are clear: Clipsal is in their corner and from products to the Club, Clipsal has made a real difference.
