“I can truly say that I love being an electrician. I’ve really enjoyed my journey through it.”

Making smart connections with Club Clipsal

For Nick Masson, the electrical industry isn’t just a job, it’s a career built on passion, people, and progress. As Director of Teoma Group, Nick has helped grow the Melbourne-based business into one of Victoria’s most respected commercial and industrial electrical contractors. With over 100 staff and projects spanning education, civil, service and maintenance, and industrial automation, Teoma is making a big impact, and they’re doing it with Clipsal by their side.

Nick’s journey started 25 years ago with a commercial electrical apprenticeship. “I loved the work,” he says. “Large projects, the satisfaction that new builds bring, that really stuck with me.”

Today, Teoma’s team is known not just for their technical expertise, but for the culture they’ve built. “I’m very fortunate that we’ve got amazing people, including a number of female apprentices and trades. The girls are awesome. They bring something different to the role.”

Why Teoma backs Clipsal

As energy efficiency and automation become more important in every sector, Clipsal products are helping Teoma deliver smart, cost-effective solutions that their customers are looking for.

“Most of our customers are interested in saving money, and the environment,” Nick says. “That’s where Clipsal products can be really advantageous.”

He points to Infrascan as a long-time favourite, a reliable go-to for occupancy sensing. “They’ve been around for so long, so reliable, easy to wire and set,” he explains. Another is the humble but mighty 414 double plug base, which he says forces sparkies to think smarter on the job.

A club that supports the industry

Nick’s a long-time Club Clipsal member, and for him, the real value lies in the people.

“The thing I love most about Club Clipsal is the events and meeting the other members,” he says. “You connect with people, share war stories, help each other out, it’s great.”

In a broad and fast-moving industry, that sense of connection matters. And for Nick, it’s clear: the future of the trade is strong, especially when backed by the right network.

“If you’ve got a genuine passion for the industry, it shows. We’re all very fortunate to be involved.”
