System/Wiser Home

Yes, both apps can operate in the same house on their respective Hub/Gateway. However Wiser devices within the home can only be paired to 1 app, either Wiser Home or Wiser by SE.

Note: Some devices can only be paired to a certain system/app. For example, if an Iconic dimmer is paired with the Wiser by SE app, it can’t be paired in the Wiser Home app.

Supported at the time of launch (July ‘24):

  • Flat rate per kWh, Time-of-use (up to 5 different rates, weekday/weekends)
  • Feed-in tariff
  • Fixed Daily Charges

Not supported initially:

  • Controlled Load tariffs, Demand-based tariffs, Tiered tariffs, Dynamic tariffs

Note: Wiser Home is an evolving App and may include further features in the future.

It is based on an algorithm taking into consideration the user habits, energy usage forecast and other parameters to use the lowest cost energy to power the load. It will be limited to EV charging with the Schneider Charge at the time of release in July ‘24.

Currently there is a limitation of 1 home per account, however this is being reviewed for expansion.

Automations are stored on the Wiser Hub, however depending on the conditions and actions may have global actions that require cloud/internet connection.

Control will still be possible when connected to the WiFi that the system is on, you can check this connection by going to Settings (Cog in top right corner of home page), Support and then toggle ON ‘Show app connection type’ this will show a picture next to the settings Cog on the home page of a router or cloud indicating the type of connection to the Hub. However energy management is cloud based and therefore will not be available if the internet is down.

There is an in-app FaQs or technical support, however to access the customer support page, tap settings, support, then Help. Call the customer care number 137328 or email techsupport.pz@se.com for any technical assistance.

Currently most of the devices are supported, however the IR converter, IP cameras and BLE (Bluetooth) connected products are not supported. Please continue using the Wiser by SE app for these devices.

PowerTag Energy

Yes, in a system having PowerTag Energy or PowerTag Control, the Wiser Hub 2nd gen needs to be installed within 3 metres of the PowerTag. This is particularly important when PowerTags are installed in an outdoor metal metre box or where some other form of physical barrier may attenuate the Zigbee signal between the PowerTags and the Hub.

PowerTags use a specific low energy Zigbee profile (Zigbee Green Power) and do not mesh with other mains-powered Zigbee devices. The PowerTags can only communicate/connect directly to the Hub.

No, only AC-coupled battery can be monitored with a PTE.

DC-coupled batteries or all-in-one ‘inverter + battery’ can’t be monitored with a PTE as there is no AC cable between the inverter and the battery.

This arrangement is currently not available.

Yes, the PowerTag Energy monitoring the grid must be paired to Wiser Home first, then solar (if any), followed by large loads (HWS, aircon, etc.)

Try toggling on the “Legacy PowerTag Energy Mode” on the Hub Device screen found in Settings, Devices, Hub 2nd Gen.

PowerTag Control

Yes, in a system having PowerTag Energy or PowerTag Control, the Wiser Hub 2nd gen needs to be installed within 3 metres of the PowerTag. This is particularly important when PowerTags are installed in an outdoor metal metre box or where some other form of physical barrier may attenuate the Zigbee signal between the PowerTags and the Hub.

PowerTags use a specific low energy Zigbee profile (Zigbee Green Power) and do not mesh with other mains-powered Zigbee devices. The PowerTags can only communicate/connect directly to the Hub.

No, the PowerTag Control can be used without a contactor to switch loads up to 2 Amps.

No, most modern aircons use inverters which can get damaged if frequently switched on/off, for this reason we do not recommend controlling your aircon via PowerTag Control and a Contactor. We are working on a dedicated solution for aircon energy optimisation, which will be launched at a later stage.

Yes, if your water heater or pool pump is connected to a PowerTag Control and Contactor, short press the push button on the front of the PowerTag Control for <2s to turn on, then press again to turn off.

Wiser 2nd Gen Hub

Currently there is a limit of 1 Wiser Hub 2nd gen per home, however this is being reviewed for expansion in future updates.

Schneider Charge

It is based on an algorithm taking into consideration the user habits, energy usage forecast and other parameters to use the lowest cost energy to power the load. It will be limited to EV charging with the Schneider Charge at the time of release in July ‘24.

The role of the anti tripping system is to manage and optimise the power allocation to EV charging to ensure that the current load in the home remains below the main switch rating to avoid tripping during charging. The anti tripping system will adapt the power delivered by the charger, and when there is not anymore power available in the house the charging session will be suspended. When Schneider Charge is used with Wiser Home with PowerTags installed on the main incomer circuit, the peak controller isn’t necessary.

A minimum of 4 days of historical data is required before the Reduce My Bill with AI feature can be activated.

Cycle the power to the Schneider Charger, once its re-starts it will automatically re-connected to the Wi-Fi.

Yes, using an Automation. In an Automation set an “If” condition to monitor solar production and then set a “Then” action to control the EV charger to turn on or off.

EVA2HPC1 for Single Phase and EVA2HPC3 for Three phase installation.

The communication between the Schneider Charge Anti-tripping system and Schneider Charge is done with Power Line Communication (PLC). So, there is no need to add a communication cable. It is important to make sure that the charger and the anti-tripping system are wired to the same phase.

MAXBAR+

Yes, a circuit breaker can be swapped with a MAX9 circuit protection device of the same type with a different current rating however circuit breaker type and positioning can’t be changed.

Yes, in that case, only the inverter is connected on the MAXBAR+. The connection between inverter and battery is DC.

Yes, 2nd solar inverter or sub-board.
