      Note: For information on how to setup the MBX Gateway Client and Server see the resolution entitled "How to connect remotely to a MB+ network via TCP/IP using the MBX Gateway driver".
      To Connect to a MB+ Network with PW32 from a remote PC via the MBX Gateway you must chose the Adapter/Device number of the MBX Gateway Client in the Communication Setup.
      First in the Project tree double click on Communications.

      Under the Modbus Plus tab type in the Adapter number of the MBX Gateway Client and the MB+ address of the PLC you wish to connect to. Hit OK and go Online to the PLC.

      In Proworx 32 when I select"Controller/Read" will the complete program be transferred from PLC to PC?

      Issue::   Uploading some or all of the project in the PLC.

      Cannot view fault on front display of MiCOM Px3x

      The alarm led is on but cannot read the fault/alarm by clicking the read button.

      The programming of the MiCOM Px3x did not have the fault/alarms setup to display by clicking the read button.

      By default the MiCOM is not programmed to read the fault/alarms results by clicking the read button. There are two options to view the fault/alarms
      Option 1:
      By default the Measured fault/alarms are stored in the following locations on the front display:

      The read function button can be setup to read fault/alarms.  In MiCOM S1 Studio (Easergy Studio) go to the LOC folder and click on Fct. read key.

      A pop up box will appear and this is used to setup fault/alarms that we display when clicking the read button.  
      The limitation of how many fault/alarms that can be displayed is 16. 

      Now if one wants to reset the fault/alarms this can be done in the same matter.  Open up MiCOM S1 Studio (Easergy Studio) and navigate to LOC and click Fct. reset key.

      Once the pop up appears select which fault/alarms one wants to reset.  Again the limitation is 16.

      Note: Be care full on which reset to select because it can clear out all of your settings.  For more information on the resets please download the Data Model Explorer for ones relay. 

      Setting up Peer Cop specific input and specific output in the M340 MB+ proxy TCSEGDB23F24FA.


      Setting up Peer Cop specific In/Out to transfer data to and from an M340 over MB+ via the TCSEGDB23F24FA.


      Unity Pro v4.0 thru v13 TCSEGDB23F24FA


      For the purposes of this resolution we will use the TCSEGDB23F24FA to have a M340 write a coil and read a register to/from a Proworx32 (PW32) programmed Quantum over MB+ using Peer Cop Specific Input and Specific Output. The M340 will write %M1 down to 00001 in the Quantum and also read 40001 from the Quantum and store it in %MW1 of the M340.

      To start in the PW32 Quantum program under config extension>Peer cop configure a specific input from the TCSEGDB23F24FA MB+ node address (in this case 53) to store the data sent from the M340 into coils 00001 - 00016. The data transferred is always packed into a word. That is why the length is 1 and 16 coils get allocated.

      Now under Specific Output configure a specific output to the TCSEGDB23F24FA MB+ node address (in this case 53) to send the data in register 40001 of the Quantum.

      Next log into the web pages TCSEGDB23F24FA with the default username/password USER/USER

      From the home page click on the setup button.

      Under Setup>M340 Interface click IP address.

      Enter the IP address of the M340 PLC or M340 NOE. Apply and save.

      Next choose Register Offsets.

      Here is where we can define the memory address in the M340 where the data will be taken from or sent to. Since the M340 does not distinguish between 0x and 1x (or 3x and 4x) notation we need away of mapping 1x and 3x registers. If you want to have the M340 read a 1x or 3x register then in this case you will need to choose a %M or %MW address 2049 or higher. So if you wanted to read register 30001 then map it to %MW2049 or above in the M340.

      Also by checking off Legacy Compatibility the registers will get shifted by 1. This is because the M340 starts address locations at 0 and the Quantum starts at 1.

      Finally you need to define an area in the M340 to hold the Peer Cop health information. Please note that this with take up 12 consecutive %MW locations (in this case %MW3073 - 3085). If the health status is not available then the TCSEGDB23F24FA will not transfer any Peer Cop data.

      Apply and save.

      Minimize the TCSEGDB23F24FA webpages and open the M340 configuration in Unity.

      Under the configuration tab confirm that you have enough memory address allocated to cover what you put into the TCSEGDB23F24FA webpages.

      Open the TCSEGDB23F24FA webpages and under setup chose Specific Output.

      Scroll down to the MB+ address of the Quantum PLC (in this case 49). Change the data type to %M. Leave the source Ref as 1 (%M1 in the M340) and set the length to 1. The Specific Output in the TCSEGDB23F24FA must match the Specific Input of the Quantum. This will map 00001 - 00016 of the Quantum to %M1 - %M16 of the M340. Apply and save.

      Next under setup click Specific Input.

      Scroll down to the MB+ address of the Quantum PLC (in this case 49). Leave the data type as %MW and the source Ref as 1 (%MW1 in the M340). Again set the length to 1. The Specific Input in the TCSEGDB23F24FA must match the Specific Output of the Quantum. This will map 40001 of the Quantum to %MW1 of the M340. Apply and save.

      Once the Quantum, M340, and TCSEGDB23F24FA are all connected and running if you toggle %M1 in the M340 you should see coil 00001 toggle in the Quantum. Also if you put a value into register 40001 in the Quantum you should see it show up in %MW1 of the M340.

      When configuring the FTP Alert Action on a Netbotz device, the FTP server may return error codes which may viewed in the Appliance Log. The return codes may be used to further troubleshoot the problem.


      The return codes for FTP servers are:

      110 Restart marker reply. In this case, the text is exact and not left to the particular implementation; it must read: MARK yyyy = mmmm where yyyy is User-process data stream marker, and mmmm server's equivalent marker (note the spaces between markers and "=").

      120 Service ready in nnn minutes.

      125 Data connection already open; transfer starting.

      150 File status okay; about to open data connection.

      200 Command okay.

      202 Command not implemented, superfluous at this site.

      211 System status, or system help reply.

      212 Directory status.

      213 File status.

      214 Help message.On how to use the server or the meaning of a particular non-standard command. This reply is useful only to the human user.
