How to eliminate historic data duplicates or errors for a point from within ViewX

Sometimes you may want to eliminate historic data duplicates or errors for a point. An easy way to do that from within ViewX is to create a button with a pick action method animation that will invoke the "Optimize data" method.
1- Create button on a mimic:


2- Double click on the button and select "Pick Action":


3- Select "Method" and click "Next":


4- Browse for the point object, select "Historic" as Aggregate and "Optimize data" as "Method", then click "Next":


5- Click on "Next" then "Finish" to end the configuration.

Now you can save the mimic, put the mimic in "Runtime" and click on the button. The "Optimize data" method will be triggered for that particular point.

How to configure Archiving in ClearSCADA and Geo SCADA?

This article contains information on setting up archiving. For more details about archiving please check the product manual.
Configuring archiving is a two step process. It requires certain changes to be done in the server configuration as well as in the database configuration.
To configure archiving please do the following:
  • Launch Server Configuration and navigate to Historic Configuration > Historic Data. Make sure the Archive After is checked and the correct number of weeks is entered. For more details about his option please refer to the product manual. 
  • Once Archive After is enabled, create an Archive object in ClearSCADA or Geo SCADA database. Below is an example of such configuration. 
  • This configuration is sufficient to be able to trigger archiving manually. To automate the archiving process, Schedule can be used as one of the options.

Issue
When opening the diagram for the PM8000 from Vista in IONE 6.0.1, it displays the following error " A generic Diagram for the Selected device cound not be found.
It works OK when opening the diagram from the Server but no from the client workstations

The PM8000 folder does not get intalled on the registry under HKEY_ LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Schneider Electric\ION Enterprise\6.0\DeviceInfo

Resolution
*Warning: This article contains information about editing the registry. Improper changes to the registry can permanently damage the operating system. Always backup the registry before making any changes.*
The registry will look different fom a 32bit than a 64bit system. In order for this process to work, the server and the client need to both be 32bit or 64bit systems.
Click on Start and type REGEDIT to open the registry
ON the Server machine, go to HKEY_ LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Schneider Electric\ION Enterprise\6.0\DeviceInfo
Find the PM8000 folder, right click and select Export and save the file.
Copy this PM800 regisry file to the client workstations and and run it by double clicking on the file.
