What causes ATV58 Message Display Center to show Communication Failed K/P Stop Not Active?

Cause:
The main MDC is red showing a fault Communication Failed K/P Stop Not Active

Resolution:
Trouble shooting tips.
1st make sure that the drive is powered up.  This Message Display Center is powered up by an external +24vdc power supply.  If the main drive is not powered up and the remote MDC is powered up you will get the Communication Failed K/P Stop Not Active fault.

What does an OBF fault code mean on the ATV58 drives?

Cause:
OBF is over braking fault

Resolution:
Check the DEC time setting on the drive.  If it is very low, try increasing to allow the drive a longer ramp down time.

Check the Line voltage on L1, L2 and L3 to verify that it is within specifications.  High line voltage will translate to high DC bus voltage.

Monitor the DC bus voltage. 

If  OBF appears on power up, verify that the display is not set to show the last fault on power up.

A dynamic brake resistor may be required if the load is overhauling.

Profibus card part numbers are VW3A3307 or VW3A3307S371.

The profibus address is set through a series of 8 dip switchs on the card beside the 9 pin profibus connector.  The address is set in binary form.  A switch in the up position indicates 0 and in the down position indicates 1.  The least significant bit is the far right switch. Example, to set the address to 36 (binary 00100100).  Place the switches in order from left to right: UP, UP, DOWN, UP, UP, DOWN, UP, UP.
