Does the PCE984685 support the XMIT Loadable?

No. The PCE984685 does not support the XMIT Loadable.

Are the RA1X and RA3X loadables supported?

No. These loadables were not developed by Schneider. They are similiar in function to the older 1X , 3X blocks used in 984LL.
As Schneider did not officially author the RA1X/RA3X blocks we cannot be responsible for their functionality or compatability in our product lines.

How to update multiple loadables in ProWORX NxT

        Goals and Symptoms

How to update multiple loadables in ProWORX NxT

        Facts and Changes

        All versions of ProWORX NxT

        Causes and Fixes

'ProWORX NxT' does not allow the update of multiple loadables at the same time. If more than 1
loadable needs tobe updated, the update must be perfomed one at a time.

The following example updates the ESI loadable which also includes the NSUP loadable.

        • Open the project.
        • Click on 'Configuration' from the top menu bar and select 'Configuration'.

        • Click on 'User Loadables'
        • Click on first loadable to be updated (i.e., NSUP) in the Loadables in database window.
        • Click on the Update button.

        • Find the the executeabe file (i.e., NSUP.exe) and select it.
        • Click on the OK to close the Select Loadable File window.

        • Click on the OK in the 'Update Successful' message box.

        • Click on the OK to save the changes and to close the Controller Configuration window.
        • Repeat the process to update the next loadable. (i.e., ESI)

What is the difference between Series and Parallel?

Simple understanding of Series and Parallel Connection

Here is an image that depicts the difference between the two connections. Notice that on a parallel connection the voltage stays the same but the current doubles, and on a series connection the voltage doubles and the current stays the same.

The recommended way is usually to have a combiner box at the location of the panels, that way there is only a single set of wires that come from the panels into the SCC.

Are the hinged, Protected Switch Modules in the 600 Series available in black?

The blank module is available in black (PDL 681M16HFBK).
The printed modules (PDL 681M16HFALWH, PDL 681M16HFFWH, PDL 681M16HFMWWH and PDL 681M16HFSWH), clear protective lid with labelling card module (PDL 681M16HFCLWH) and press module (PDL 681M16HFPWH) are all only available in white.

How are the Pro Series labelled?

The same as you currently do, using Traffolyte, Formica, P-Touch or Dymo labels.
Print your label with a printer, using 9mm labels, and stick the label on the infill piece that comes with the grid.
For Traffolyte labels order 55 x 7.5mm labels, remove the infill piece that comes with the grid, and stick the label straight onto the grid.
Once the tamperproof cover is clipped on, the circuit ID is protected behind the easy to view window and cannot be removed, mixed up or cleaned off.

Is it possible to have two modbus plus adapters communicating to a Magelis HMI?

Can Concept error '801 - error opening loadable file' be corrected?

        Cause:
Concept is unable to locate a loadable in the Concept \DAT folder when doing a compare or download.

        Resolution:
Make sure the loadable used in the project resides on the "Installed" side of the Configure - Loadables section of the Configurator.

If not, move if from the "Available" column on the left to the "Installed" column on the right.

If it is not "Available", hit the <Unpack> button and point to the loadable's .EXE or .DAT file and <Unpack> it.  It will then
show up in the "Available" column and can be "Installed".

Make sure that all user loadables needed in the project are in the Concept \DAT folder.

Can EPO Circuits be Wired in Parallel?

No.  The EPO circuit on each UPS has a surge suppression element . By paralleling these circuits the results may cause the UPS to EPO themselves and each other. Independant poles of an EPO (single action, multi-pole) switch must be run to each UPS.

Why are all three outputs of my 984 Ladder Logic Xmit constantly on?

All three outputs of the Xmit block will turn on to indicate the Xmit loadables were installed in the incorrect order. The NSUP loadable needs to be installed into the database first followed by the Xmit loadable.

Battery bank assembly; amp hour calculation

        Issue:
This article is designed to give basic information on how to connect batteries together in a bank and then to calculate the amp hour capacity of the bank.

        Product Line:
        All devices requiring battery banks

        Environment:
All units with external battery banks

        Resolution:
        1. two batteries can be connected in either "series" or in "parallel".
1a. "series" is when we connect the battery poles in a positive to negative orientation.
1a. when in series we add the voltage and average the amps
1b. "parallel" is when we connect the battery poles in a positive to positive and negative to negative orientation.
1b. when in parallel we add the amperage and average the volts

eg. when taking two 6 volt, 100 amp hour batteries in series, it becomes 100 amps at 12 volts. When in parallel, it becomes 200 amps at 6 volts.

eg. if you have six 120 amp hour batteries at 12 volts each, you end up with a 12 volt system with 720 amp hours (Ah) assuming that you connect the batteries in parallel. If you hook them up in series-parallel you will end up with a 24 volt system with 360Ah.

Series-parallel bank assembly means that we take two batteries and connect them in series and then assemble them in parallel with another series pair. This is normally done in a mobile application to bring 6 volt batteries up to a 12 volt system. Sometimes to bring 12 volt batteries up to a 24 volt system. It is not restricted to pairs of batteries in series but this is most typical.

        Cause:
Battery bank assembly is considered a very basic skill set in this field. As such, there are very few articles detailing how to do this or how to calculate them.

Importing a Modsoft program returns 'Convert' error

        Goals and Symptoms

Importing a Modsoft program returns 'Convert' error.

        Facts and Changes

        ProWORX 32 version 2.1

        Causes and Fixes

Importing a Modsoft program returns 'Convert' error:

        which is followed by:

The error will get returned if the Modsoft program contains a custom loadable. To resolve the
        problem,

        • Delete the custom loadable from the program using Modsoft
        • Save the changes.
        • Import it the Modsoft program using ProWORX 32'.

During the import, you may get the following warning message because the converter does not
recognize the custom loadable block that is in the logic. You should compare the logic from the
Modsoft program against the 'ProWORX 32' project to ensure that everything is fine with the
exception of the deleted custom loadable nodes or blocks.

When using Concept, what may cause a 4000h Stop Code on my Momentum I/O Bus CPU?

The 4000h stop code may be generated by a bad I/O map, extended memory error or missing loadable. This error will also occur when a Momentum I/OBus network has a third party Interbus device on the network but undefined. The Concept ModConnect tool must be used to generate a MDC file that will define the module and allow the Concept database to insert this definition in the I/O map configuration. A common symptom of this problem is the program will download and start with no problems with an older computer that has the MDC definitions installed. When the project is moved to another computer without the modules MDC file, the project will report a 4000h error after download/ start. To eliminate this error generate a new MDC file using the Concept Modconnect tool.

Does the NTP need to be configured on all NMCs for all parallel Galaxy VS?

        Issue:
Does the NTP need to be configured on all NMCs for all parallel Galaxy VS.  These includes Internal NCM and optional AP9644 NMC.

        Product line:
        Galaxy VS

        Environment:
        Galaxy VS

        Cause:
Configuring NTP on multiple NMCs for parallel UPSs can cause issues like excessive time stamp events in the log files.  Parallel Galaxy VSs communicate between each other and they will try sync the date and time which can cause a loop of trying to set the date and time.  The above communication is also true for the internal NMC and the optional AP9644 NMC.  They communicate to each and the same logging issue can occur.

        Resolution:
Ensure that only one network management interface in the entire UPS system (single or parallel) is set to synchronize time.

What are the rules for parallel-connection of XS 5-wire inductive , XT capacitive and XU photoelectric detectors?

        Relevant products :

The relevant products are XS inductive and XT capacitive sensors, and XU photoelectric detectors.

        EMC:

When connected in parallel, XS and XU products do not generate conducted or radiated electromagnetic phenomena likely to disturb their environment.
Their immunity to electromagnetic disturbance is also compliant with IEC standard 947-5-2.

5-wire sensors can be connected in parallel without any particular restrictions.
On these devices, the output and power supply circuits are separated.
The electrical isolation between the sensor and the relay contact is 1500 to 2500 V depending on the model.
The maximum voltage depending on the model is 250 V AC.

When the application is done with multi motors in parallel, it must use a thermal relay type TeSys LRD or LR3D (Class 10).
It is not recommended to use GV2's because the range frequency is only for 50/60Hz.
The TeSys LRD or LR3D work on the range frequency 0 to 400Hz.

        What’s inside the Modicon M580?

The Modicon M580 CPU has “Spear 1380” microprocessor, which integrates all of the following inside a single silicon chip:

        1. A standard dual core high speed microprocessor to process both our customers’ applications on one core and the communications, in parallel, on the second core. This architecture - separating applications and communications on different cores - allow us to minimize the M580’s application scan time jitter, even in the case of huge communications.
        2. A processing unit dedicated for Ethernet communication with a 1Gbps interface
        3. A processing unit dedicated for our legacy backplane protocol (BusX)
        4. A processing unit dedicated for functional safety to compute the same application as the main core but with a different processing core and compiler
