Com'X 210 (EBX210)
Com'X 510 (EBX510)

Environment
Com'X 200/210/510 Ethernet Networking

Cause
A user may be confused about which port to use for an application.

Resolution
The Com'X features 2 Ethernet ports:

The Ethernet ports can be configured in 2 modes:
     1) Switch mode: in this case both Ethernet ports share a common configuration.
     2) Upstream/downstream mode: both Ethernet ports are configured separately.

1) In switch mode, both Ethernet ports have the same settings. Using 2 ports simplifies wiring:
    -  Ethernet 1 can be connected to a switch on a local network.
     - Ethernet 2 can be used to connect a PC for configuration operations or to connect a data collection device locally with an Ethernet port.

2) In upstream/downstream mode, the 2 Ethernet ports have different settings and function independently:
    - Ethernet 1 must be used for data publishing. It can be also configured in DHCP Client mode or static IPv4 address mode.
    - Ethernet 2 must be used for data collection. It can be configured as DHCP client, static IPv4 address, or DHCP server.

Note: The Com'X can also utilize power over Ethernet (PoE). Ethernet 1 port should be used for PoE.  View the Technical Datasheet attatched for more details.

What is the replacement for a 410-2 Single axis Servo positioner?

Issue: Replacement

Product Line: 410, Single axis servo positioner

Environment: None

Cause: Obsolescence

Resolution: There is no direct plug-in replacement for the 410 family of single axis servo positioners. Migration to Lexium 32 series drives is the general recommendation. Regardless of whether the 410 drive is used in a standalone application (or) is a remote drop on a PLC, a Lexium 32M drive may be used as replacement. 410-2 being a 10 A drive (continuous current), a LXM32MD30N4  would be an ideal replacement. If the existing motor is deemed compatible, then a resolver option card may be used to commutate the existing motor. If the 410 drive is used as a remote drop on a PLC exchanging data, an Ethernet option module may be used for communication with the PLC over Modbus/TCP.

Application specific information would be required for a more accurate listing of replacement parts.

Three types of Alerts in FL10 unit

There are three types of Alerts available in our float level system that uses an Accutech FL10 transmitter and Electrolab’s DLS probe. In all three Alert cases the only way to know which alert is indicated is to either see it on the face of the transmitter or retrieve it from the Status Register by parsing it in the RTU.

1. Sensor Alert (SENALRT) indicates the sensor could not be measured and is not valid. The FL10 is communicating with the DLS.

1. System Alert (SYSALRT) indicates the field unit cannot measure the sensor value. The FL10 is not communicating with the DLS .

1. Level Alert (LVLALRT) indicates possible degradation of the field unit level measurement. It is either a negative number or the two floats appear to be at the same level (touching?).

In the cases of 1 & 2 above, the primary variable and temperature registers will display a value chosen by the user through the initial configuration as per this table:
