                      Issue: The part numbers of the HMISTU series are not self explanatory.

                      Product Line: HMISTU series

                      Resolution: Here is a better description of what the HMISTU part numbers consist of.

                      The HMISTU655 consists of the HMIS5T back module + the HMIS65 (3.5" color screen)
                      The HMISTU855 consists of the HMIS5T back module+ the HMIS85 (5.7" color screen)
                      The Screen and back modules can be purchased seperately or together.

                      The HMIS5T back module has 64MB of DRAM and 32MB of application flash.  This is twice the amount of memory from the first generation of HMISTU. 

                      HMIS5T back module requires Vijeo Designer V6.0 SP3 to select the HMIS5T in the configuration. Note that all HMIS5T's manufactured after November 2018 will require Vijeo Designer V6.2 SP7. There will be a label on the rear moduel indicating this.

                      In Vijeo Designer, always select the correct target type as listed on the label of the rear module. Do not use the target type model HMISTU655 or HMISTU855 unless your label indicates that.

                      The suffix s in HMISTU655s and HMISTU855s indicates that the Vijeo Designer Limited disk is included with the package.  No software registration is needed for the HMISTU.

                      1. Touch the bottom-right corner of the screen
                      2. Wait 0.5 to 0.75 seconds
                      3. Touch the top-left corner
                      4. to get into the System configuration screen. From there, the Date/Time can be adjusted manually.
                      Note 1: You may try repeating steps 1-3 alternating corners if you can't get the timing on the first try.
                      Note 2: This is the default method for getting to the System Configuration screen of the HMI.

                      For Magelis HMISTU655/855, it is possible to replace the front module with HMIS65/85 but for that, you need to reload the Runtime from VJD Runtime Installer and then download the application by changing the target type.

                      Here is the procedure to use a front module HMIS85 with a HMISTU655:
                      1. Turn on the HMISTU655
                      2. Install the Runtime from the VJD Runtime Installer
                      3. Turn off the HMISTU655
                      4. Replace the front module by the HMIS85
                      5. Turn on the “new” HMI
                      6. Download the application by selecting the HMISTU855 in VJD build time.

                      No, the XVGU cannot be used with the HMIG5U nor the HMISTU. The only HMI's that can use the XVGU are the XBTGT, HMIGTO, and HMIG3U.

                      The HMISCU does not offer Thermocouple Broken wire detection.

                       When the T/C is broken the temperature reading stays the same.  Therefore if the process where the temperature is changing at least 0.1F every so often logic could be written to detect a broken wire detection.

                      Attached an sample Function Block that could imported in the SoMachine project.  It is monitoring the temperation every 10 seconds and if doesn't see a change a broken Thermocouple bit gets set. If 10 seconds is too sensitive then change it to a longer period of time.

                      The touchscreen front attachment part of the Magelis HMIS5T or HMISCU has two sizes, a 3.5 inch touch display and a 5.7 inch touch display - each with the choice of with or without the Schneider Electric logo. All of them have the same mounting solution and cutout hole size and are 320x240 pixels.

                      The Magelis HMIGTO and STU HMI devices do not have the runtime recovery option like the Magelis XBTGT series using a serial recovery cable. 
                      The unit will need to be sent back as a warranty replacement if still under warranty or repair if out of warranty.  Please contact your local Distributor to set this up.

                      Issue: Magelis HMI is unable to communicate over ethernet.

                      Resolution: One common mistake people make is plugging the Ethernet cable into the RJ45 COM port of the HMI. First thing to check is to see if your Ethernet cable is actually plugged into the  Ethernet port (it is labelled accordingly).

                      For a HMISTU targets, the retentive variables are automatically stored every 10 seconds.
                      For a HMISTO targets, the retentive variables are automatically stored hourly.

                      The cable is XBTZ9733. It has a RJ45 on the Magelis side and an Mini din on the other end, it will support either RS232 or RS485.

                      Is the Magelis HMISCUxxx serial port non-isolated?

                      Yes, the Magelis HMISCU serial port is non-isolated. Non-isolated means that the SG (signal ground) are connected to the FG (frame ground).

                      Panel Change is very slow on HMISTO7xx

                      When using Vijeo XD to program HMISTO7xx, ensure you do not use large resolution images for the application. Otherwise, the panel changes will occur slowly at runtime. This is because the HMI needs to downsize the image during runtime and this takes CPU time.

                      To avoid this issue, downsize the image resolution before adding it to the application.

                      Unfortunetly there is no way for the unit to be recovered. The unit must be sent in for repair.

                      Issue: The Vijeo Designer Web Gate server does not support secure HTTP connections.

                      What is the maximum number of TCP/IP connections supported by Vijeo Designer Runtime?

                      The maximum number of TCP/IP connections depends on the model of the HMI used. For all non-iPC Magelis HMIs programmed with Vijeo Designer, the maximum number of TCP/IP connections is 48. In other words, you can add upto 48 TCP/IP equipments at the I/O Manager for models such as XBTGT, HMIGTO, HMISTO, HMIGTU, HMISTU, and HMIG3U.

                      For iPC models and HMIG5U, the limit is 80.
