Yes they can, but there can be difficulties with enabling the software to operate correctly. The most reliable method is to first install SQL/SMS. Next, install ION Enterprise and MSDE (the two database engines will co-exist on the same system). There are complications with the sa password if the two Suites are running on a unified SQL database.
Also, SMS 4.0 SU2 requires .Net 2.0 framework, while ION:Enterprise 5.5 requires .Net 1.1 framework. These can co-exist on the same system, but may require some configuration for their individual needs.
It is NOT recommended to run ION Eneterprise and SMS on the same system, but there have been some successfull installations.

Can you use the VW3A1101 keypad with the ATS48 soft starters?
Needs to run a 50ft cable run using the VW3A1101 keypad and cat 5 cable to the ATS48 soft starter.
The VW3A1101 keypad is not compatible with the ATS48 soft starter. The correct remote keypad part number for the ATS48 is VW3G48101. The standard cable is 3 meters long. We do not have any test data to support that you can run this cable with a repeater to get a longer cable run out of it. You will have to test to see if the remote cable can mounted longer than 3 meters.
The easy method is to use %SW20 Incremental counter ( Unity Pro Software, system word ) mapped to any %MW which is inturn map to data points ( IEC or DNP3 protocol ) Infact there is no direct bit or word for getting the diagnostic communication break or make. This incremental counter ( %SW20 ) is incrementing always even if the CPU is in stopped mode. So the point is to read this running counter value in SCADA. Whenever the cable is disconnected the reading in the SCADA will hold the last value and will not be incremented. This fixed value in SCADA will be the alarm to say the communication is broken between the SCADA and the BMXNOR0200. Here the programmer in SCADA has to compare the current value with the last 2 seconds value. If the value is same means its fixed and there is communication break. If the value is not fixed and is incrementing means that the communication is healthy.
When I read the value from the front display of a meter it looks correct however when I read it the value as a register read from the EGX webpage or the Modbus Tester tool the value returned is vastly different.
Example: The front panel of the meter displays -9,173 kVAR yet the direct register reads yield a value of 56362
Reading and Interpreting Modbus Registers
The registers are stored in the meter as a signed 32 bit value but the EGX register read and Modbus Tester treat the register as an unsigned 32 bit value.

For a Magelis HMI, the Media Access Control (MAC) address is a unique 12-digit hexadecimal value associated with a network card. MAC Address is also known as a hardware address or a physical address.
At run time, you can view the MAC address of a target machine that supports Ethernet using either scripts or the Runtime Configuration Menu.
To view the MAC address using the Runtime Configuration Menu:
Open the Runtime Configuration Menu. For more information, see Section 26.2, Displaying the Runtime Configuration Menu.
In the Offline tab, click the Network button to open the Network menu.
Touch the MAC/DNS tab at the top of the Network menu.
The MAC Address is displayed in the Network MAC/DNS tab.

Reading and converting Modbus register values
The Energy Meter stores energy across two 16-bit integer registers.
Register #1 and Register #2 (Modbus address 257/258 for Register #1 and 259/260 for Register #2). Register #2 is the High WORD and Register #1 is the Low WORD.
The Multiplier/Divisor table states that both of these registers must be divided by 32 to obtain the real value from the raw data.
The Multiplier/Divisor should NOT be applied to both registers. It is applied to the final value of both registers.
To calculate the Energy the registers must first be arranged as the register list states  is the High word and  is the Low word.
To make  the High word it needs to be shifted to the left 16 bits.
To accomplish this multiply the value in  by 65,356.
You will then add this value to the value in .
The final value will be divided or multiplied by the correct scaling value. Please see the example listed below.
For this example we will assume an Energy Meter with 300 amp CTs. According to the Integer Multiplier/ Divisor table, 300 amp CTs will give a divisor value, (d), of 32 and a multiplier value, (m), of 0.03125.
We will assume the following register values.
Register #1 = 29,586
Register #2 = 31
Using Divisor Table
kWh = ([R2]*65,536+[R1])/d
kWh = (31*65,536+29,586) / 32
kWh = 64412.56
Using Multiplier Table
kWh = ([R2]*65,536+[R1]) * m
kWh = (31*65,536+29,586) * 0.03125
kWh = 64412.56
*Note the divisor will not always be 32 and the multiplier will not always be 0.03125. For the correct values please see the Integer Multiplier Table.
The purpose of this resolution is to inform 170ENT11001 Ethernet Communication Adapter product users that a workaround is available so the module does not go into SAFE MODE when its IP address is assigned using DHCP.
A condition exists with the 170ENT11001 in Exec. versions 1.04 and lower where the Ethernet Communications Adapter will go into SAFE MODE if the IP is assigned by an NOE or ETY DHCP server.
SAFE MODE is a condition where the I/O communications between the 170ENT11001and the I/O Base are intentionally disabled and the outputs are set to their reset state.
If the ENT11001 is configured with a ROLENAME, it will send out DHCP Discover messages to obtain its IP address from a DHCP server. After the NOE/ETY DHCP server assigns the IP, there is an FDR (Faulty Device Replacement) requirement to upload specific files from the ENT11001 flash memory via FTP. One of these files contains information about the 'Holdup Time' and 'Reservation Time', but these values are not stored in flash memory when the module is powered up new out of the box. Therefore, as a workaround, the user must go to the "Configure Momentum IO" web page and select "Configure Communication Adapter Parameters" (see diagram). The user must then click on 'Save' to save the 'Holdup and Reservation' Time values to flash. Once this action has been accomplished, it does not have to be repeated unless the Holdup or Reservation Time value needs to be changed. The IP can now be assigned via DHCP at any time and the IO will become operational.

The PM800 series meters had been out several years before the PM8ECC became available, so the firmware may not be the latest. As a result, PM8ECC will not function correctly.
The Series 800 Power Meter (PM8) MUST have 10.6 firmware or later in order to support the functionality of the PM8 Ethernet Communication Card (PM8ECC).
To verify the firmware version from the front panel of the meter, follow the steps below.
1. Press MAINT > DIAG > METER.
2. Verify that the number before OS, RESET, and DL is 10.600 or higher.
3. If the meter firmware is not up-to-date, then meter firmware must be updated. One or all three firmwares may need upgrading (OS,RS, or DL).
NOTE: In order to upgrade the firmware, you will need the Download Firmware Upgrade Utility (DLF3000), which is provided on the
PM8ECC Technical Library CD-ROM or can be downloaded from Firmware Upgrade - Instructions and Downloads.
