What are the connectors required for the DC Input on a Conext RL5000 in SOLA?

The connectors that are required are branded as Multi-Contact MC4.
The part numbers are also located in the Installation and Operation Manual P.2-39.
Type PV-KBT4/6 II for Positive and PV-KST4/6 II for Negative.
These are required by the standard AS5033 as this standard does not allow the mixing of brands.

These connectors are not provided with the new product.

Answer:
The firmeare wasn't upgraed successfully, the [oldversion].upd file can still be found in root folder of EGX300 FTP site.
The issue can be addressed by removing the [oldversion].upd file and reuploading the newest disk image .upd file into FTP site again.

Why can't I see valid input data on Quantum analog inputs referenced to %IW1 - %IW8?

One possible reason is that Unity uses 8 IO Scanner Health words located at %IW1 - %IW8. Go to the Unity Browser and then to the Communication folder, there under the IO Scanner tab you will see the Health word assignments. You are free to change the starting %IW reference and valid analog input data should begin to appear on %IW1 - %IW8.

Is there a parameter in the ATV32 that will allow me to reverse the output phase rotation?

Can not find a parameter to do this in current literature.

Resolution:
The ATV32 series drive does not have a means to reverse the output phase rotation via programming parameter.   To reverse the direction of the motor, swap 2 leads on the output side of the drive.   If you swap phase rotation on the input side of the ATV32, the motor direction will not change.

MIB Transparent Ready interface: Schneider has obtained a private MIB, groupe_schneider (3833) (see page 355). This MIB includes a set of data that enables the network management system to supervise the Ethernet services. The Transparent Ready private MIB can be downloaded from the Web server on any Transparent Ready module in a PLC.

SNMP is used to do the following:
1. query devices, such as host computer(s), routers, switches, and bridges, to determine their status

Release Notice

The purpose of this resolution is to inform Momentum M1E users that the 984LL Exec. has been upgraded to version 1.23.

Goals and Symptoms

Resolves an issue with reconnecting from an M1E client to a server using I/O scanner if the M1E is power cycled. The M1E will now reconnect with a different port number. Resolves a reconnect issue when the gateway is powered down.

  1. Closes a connection after 6 retries, even when the server ACKs the M1E. (based on single application where the Linux stack came up before the application. It established a connection but did not respond since the application was not yet functional).
  2. Maximum time between 2 retries on a network that has not yet established communications (that it has not received a response to its queries) is 1 second.
  3. State machine changed to send an ACK in response to SYN,ACK and not send it with the query. (due to interoperability issues with OTB).
  4. Any log-in to the controller can be monitored by viewing bit 3 in the first 40xxx Status Block Register.
    1 = someone logged in on any one of the Modbus ports
    0 = no one logged in
    This function accurate as long as the PLC is in RUN mode.
  5. Fixes problem of communications through routers. This problem only occurred with Exec. v.1.21.
  6. Now sends a RST before opening a new socket.

This resolution affects 171CCC98020, 171CCC96020, 171CCC98030, and 171CCC96030 processors using the 984LL Exec.

  • Note: It is recommended to power cycle the M1E immediately after downloading an Exec.

How quickly will the HS Power Meter Module fill the on board memory of an ION 7550/7650 meter?

The calculation in this article shows how much time it would take for a High Speed (HS) Power Meter Module to fill 10MB on-board memory of ION 7550/7560. HS Power Meter Module updates their measurement as fast as once per half cycle (rather than once per second) or twice in every cycle.
The assumptions made are as follows:


  • 1. On board memory size is 10MB

    2. Using firmware version 360 or later for the meter

    3. The meter has only one data recorder module with six inputs (3 phase voltage, 3 phase current)

    4. No waveform recorder module or event log controller module is in use

    5. The HS Power Meter Module is updating twice in every cycle

    •  

      If we are working on a 60 Hz system, then there will be 120 updates in one second.

       

      Each phase voltage or phase current data takes 5 byte of space and each time stamp takes 8 byte of space.

      That is, each update will be 38 byte long (=6X5 byte+8 byte). This 38 byte of memory will be called log.

      The total on board memory is 10 MB or 10485760 byte (1MB= 1024 KB, 1 KB= 1024 byte).

      Therefore, the on board memory can hold 275941.0526 logs.

      In one second there are 120 logs which will fill the entire memory in 2299.508 seconds or in .63875 hour or 38.32500 minute.

      Due to this tremendous rate, HS Power Meter Module is only used for recording sub-second events (for example transients) over a very brief period.

To determine if an option card is installed on the ATV61/71, go to menu 1.11 in the drives menu enter and find menu option 1 and option 2 this will display the option cards installed.



Troubleshooting tips:
If one of the options 1 or options 2 show an unknown option or if unknown is displayed, check the card to see if it's seated correctly or try reseating the option card.
If there is problem with one of the option cards and you need to get the part number of the option card that is installed, you can find the VW3AXXXXX part number on the white bar code on the leg of the option card.

What is the meaning of the utilization categories AC1 and AC3 for the Tesys contactors?

The standard utilization categories defines the current making and breaking values for contactors.
They depend on the following:

  • The type of load to be controlled (squirrel cage or slip ring motor, resistors)
  • The operating cycle conditions (motor running, stalled or starting, reverse operation, counter-current braking)
 

AC-1 category

This applies to all AC devices (loads) with a power factor of at least 0.95 (cos phi greater than or equal to 0.95).
Example of use: resistive load, heating, distribution.


AC-3 category

This applies to squirrel cage motors where breaking occurs while the motor is running.
Example of use: all squirrel cage motors, lifts, escalators, conveyors, bucket elevators, compressors, pumps, mixers, air conditioning units, etc.


Note concerning contactor part numbers

The most common application of contactors is controlling squirrel cage asynchronous motors.
Hence, Schneider Electric contactor part numbers are based on the AC-3 rating.
 

For example, the LC1D18xx contactor is designed to control motors with a nominal current rating of 18 A (AC-3).
This contactor is capable of withstanding current peaks (~ 100 A) on starting, such as are typical on inductive machines like motors, without sustaining any damage.
It can also control resistance heaters for current ratings up to 32 A (AC-1). This load is resistive, hence there are no current peaks.
