The CM4000 and CM4250, by default, do not have the capability to detect flicker severity.

To detect flickers on these meters the Current/Voltage Module Transient (CVMT) must be installed

The terminal screws are 4mm with a 0.7 pitch. Each meter is supplied with spade lugs that accommodate 10-12 AWG wire.

CM4000PL giving a 'comms loss' error message when trying to debug the program?

What is the maximum voltage a CM4000 can directly measure? 

Resolution
The CM4000 series meters can accurately measure up to 617 volts with a direct connection. After 617 volts the voltage peaks begin to clip and the metering accuracy is reduced. The voltage inputs can withstand a continuous voltage up to 1000 VRMS L-N or 1732 VRMS L-L

Why do some registers in meters read -32768?

There are two situations that will cause a register in a PowerLogic Circuit Monitor, Power Meter, or other PowerLogic device to contain a value of -32768.

  1. When there is no input (voltage or current) to calculate or measure a metered value.
  2. When the register value is non-applicable for the mode of the meter.
  3. When you are reading the wrong unit ID of an Ethernet device, i.e., unit ID 1 instead of 255 on a PM5560

Example: The frequency register in a CM4250 will read -32768 when no voltage or current is present.

Note: System Manager Software (SMS) will indicated N/A when a register value contains the value -32768 and Power Monitoring Expert (PME) 8.1 will show 0.

Can I order a CVMT for a CM4000T separately?

The CM4000T is shipped with one CVMT (Current Voltage Module). Is the CVMT sold independently of the circuit monitor in the case that a replacement is needed?

Yes, the Current/Voltage Module can be ordered separately.

The CVMT supports high speed transient detection. 

Note: Previously, there was another type of Current Voltage Module. However, now the CVM42 is obsolete along with the CM4250. The CVM42 supported an anti-aliasing filter and was compatible with the CM4000 and the CM4250.

Issue
A customer would like to know the calibration requirements and/or calibration data for a Powerlogic metering product.

Resolution
Attached are calibration sheets for the CM2000, CM4000, and PM800 series meters that state under normal conditions the meters do not require re-calibration.

Traditionally individual calibration certificates are not issued for powerlogic devices. However a request can be made to the Technical Support Team to generate one for the individual meters. The calibration file is proprietary, however the calibration certificate contains all of the calibration data that was used during testing.
