          All versions and serial ranges.

          Cause:
          The Compatibility Chart shows that the AR7731 is not compatible with the NetShelter SV cabinets.

          Resolution:
          The AR7731 is designed for use with the NetShelter SX. In the kit, the strips that are used to close off the space between the cabinet and the floor are too short.
          You can stack these pieces atop one another to create a taller strip.

          Are NetShelter SV cabinets compliant for seismic installation?

          Issue:
          The customer would like to know if the NetShelter SV cabinets are rated for seismic installations in UBC High Seismic Area or OSHPD.

          A customer is looking for a seismic rated cabinet.

          Resolution:
          The NetShelter SV cabinets are not rated for seismic installation. There are no brackets or accessories that can make them compatible for a seismic installation.

          What is the maximum kW rating for the NetShelter SV?

          Issue:
          What is the kW rating for the NetShelter SV cabinets? Can it support 5 kW of equipment?

          Product Line:
          NetShelter SV

          Environment:
          All versions and serial ranges.

          Cause:
          There's a proposal for NetShelter SV. We need to know if the cabinet will house 5kW of equipment.

          Resolution:
          While there are no published kW ratings for cabinets we expect the NetShelter SV to be used for low to medium density mixed use applications. The NetShelter SV is not marketed as a "Datacenter" or "ISX" cabinet - specifically because we already have the SX to serve this application. The SV is not compatible with most of the datacenter architecture and accessories such as EcoAisle containment, Vertical Exhaust Duct and InRow.

          There are many factors when specifying loads within cabinets - but most of them are related to cooling or heat extraction. The SV was not designed to have a removable roof or any roof fans or chimney, but as long as the cooling in the room is sufficient there is no reason why a customer could not load the cabinet with 5kW of equipment. However, without adequate air exchange there may be some hot spots. If high performance, med-high density cabinets is what the customer requires they should be evaluating the NetShelter SX and InRow, which will be the best fit solution for the application.

          What is the IP (Internal Protection) rating of the NetShelter SX, SV and CX cabinets?

          Issue:
          Internal Protection (IP) rating of the NetShelter SX, SV and CX cabinets is required.

          Product Line:
          NetShelter SX, NetShelter SV, NetShelter CX

          Environment:
          All versions and serial ranges.

          Cause:
          IP ratings are used to determine how large an object, or liquid, may pass through the side panels or roof of a cabinet.

          Resolution:

          The NetShelter cabinets have not been independently tested to IEC 60529 for Internal Protection, but they meet the rating scale (see below).

          The NetShelter SX and SV cabinets meet the Internal Protection rating scale of IP20.
          This includes: AR3100, AR3104, AR3107, AR3130, AR3140, AR3150, AR3157, AR3300, AR3305, AR3340, AR3347, AR3350, AR3357, AR3200, and AR3810, AR2400, AR2401, AR2400FP1, AR2480, AR2500, AR2580, AR2407, AR2487, AR2507, AR2587, AR2200, AR2280.

          The NetShelter CX meet the Internal Protection rating scale of IP44.
          This includes: AR4000MV, AR4018A, AR4018IA, AR4024A, AR4024IA, AR4038A, AR4038IA.
          With the optional dust filters installed they meet the rating scale of IP54.

          The Internal Protection (IP) standard describes a system for classifying the degrees of protection provided by the enclosures of electrical equipment. Developed by the European committee for Electrotechnical Standardization (CENELEC), these standards are designed to numerically rate an electrical product on the level of protection it's enclosure provides. By assigning different number codes, the product's degree of protection can be identified quickly and easily.

          The IP Rating Scale is defined as follows:

          1st number of the rating can change from 0-6 and indicates the degree of protection with respect to persons and solid objects.

          0 = Not protected
          1 = Protects against solid objects greater than 50 mm
          2 = Protects against solid objects greater than 12 mm
          3 = Protects against solid objects greater than 2.5 mm
          4 = Protects against solid objects greater than 1.0 mm
          5 = Dust protected
          6 = Dust tight

          2nd number of the rating can range from 0-8 and indicates degree of protection with respect to harmful ingress of water.

          0 = Not protected
          1 = Protects against dripping water
          2 = Protects against dripping water of +- 15 degree angle
          3 = Protects against spraying water of +- 60 degree angle
          4 = Protects against splashing water
          5 = Protects against water jets
          6 = Protected against heavy seas
          7 = Protects against immersion
          8 = Protects against submersion

          Therefore, it is explained that:
          • The NetShelter SX and SV cabinets meet the rating scale of IP20; protects against solid objects of greater than 12 mm and does not offer protection against water.
          • The NetShelter CX cabinet meets the rating scale of IP44; protects against solid objects greater than 1.0 mm and offers protection against splashing water. Plus, if the optional dust filters are used the CX will protect against dust and splashing water, which meets the rating scale of IP54.

          What is the advantage of 750 mm wide cabinets over 800 mm wide cabinets?

          Issue:
          Customers want to know if there is an advantage of having 750 mm wide cabinets.

          Product Line:
          NetShelter SX, NetShelter SV

          Environment:
          All versions and serial ranges.

          Cause:
          Customers need help choosing the correct cabinet width.

          Resolution:

          In a long row, the 750 mm wide cabinet saves space over the 800 mm wide cabinet.
          Sixteen (16) 750 mm wide cabinets can fit into the same space as a (15) 800 mm wide cabinets:
          • 750 mm wide - 16 cabinets = 12.0 meter.
          • 800 mm wide - 15 cabinets = 12.0 meter.
