Can you use the 755RFB across circuits and phases?

Yes you can use the 755RFB across circuits and phases.

What is the 755RFB used for?

The 755RFB is a replacement base for the 755PSMA2 which is used to interconnect wirelessly to other smoke alarms.

What is the RF range for 755RFB base?

RF Range (line of sight) will be: 100m free air, 30m indoors

Will 755RFB relay base work with 755PSMA?

Unfortunately not, 755RFB is not suitable for use with 755PSMA. It is suitable for use with 755PSMA2 and 755PSMA4.

Can the 755RFB be used for both wired and wireless interconnection?

Yes, the Wireless base is capable of interconnecting 20 smoke alarms wirelessly using 755RFB bases and 40 smoke alarms using wired interconnect cables simultaneously. The 755RFB can be used as a wireless bridge between smoke alarms on different circuits or phases (that normally CAN NOT be connected together via conventional wired interconnect).

Will the 755RFB be able to operate with 5 bases and 5 x 755RLPSMA2's?

The 755RFB base will operate the same with a 755RLPSMA2 as it will with the 755PSMA2

Which type of switch should be used for the RemoteTest/Hush feature on the 755PSMA2 Smoke alarm?

Any 240V momentary switch, such as a 30MBP Bell Press Switch can be wired to either of the two new mounting bases 755RB or 755RFB up to 20m away. A relay can also be pulsed on momentarily via a security or home automation panel to activate the test/hush function.

Can the Clipsal 755PFM have a remote switch fitted for test/Hush function?

Yes, but the optional mounting base 755RB (Mounting Base with Integrated 2A Relay and Remote Test/Hush Function ) or 755RFB (Mounting Base with Wireless Interconnect and Remote Test/Hush Function) must be added. The feature can be wired through any momentary switch. Once activated, normal operation resumes after about 10 minutes.

What are the best SD100 and SD200 smoke alarm replacements?

The photoelectric Clipsal 755PSMA4 is the replacement for both, even though the SD100 was ionisation type as we no longer supply that type. There is also available a 755RLPSMA4 with a rechargeable lithium backup battery. All current smoke alarm models are compatible and inerconnectable with previous versions. Also available are the 755RFB mounting base with wireless interconnect, the 755RB mounting base with integrated relay, and the 755PFM flush mount.

How to test the smoke alarm installed on a 755RFB base?

The procedure to test the smoke alarms on a 755RFB base is as follows:
• Test the LOCAL smoke alarm: Press and hold either the Remote Test button or the Local Test / Hush button and release within 4 seconds. Only the local smoke alarm will sound.
• Test the LINKED smoke alarms: Press and hold either the Remote Test button or the Local Test / Hush button for more than 5 seconds. The linked alarms will sound.

Note for wireless interconnection: After 5 seconds, a signal of 15 seconds duration is sent to all units. When the wireless linked smoke alarms detect the signal, they will sound until the signal is no longer transmitted. The wireless detection interval is 10 seconds.

Important information: After theTest / Hush button has been pressed, wait 10 minutes before any additional testing is conducted to avoid any false alarm responses as product has reduced sensitivity during this period.
