What is the maximum number of devices that can be used on a DALI line?

The absolute maximum is 64. This figure includes any device that requires a DALI address (i.e. DALI Ballasts and Input/Output modules). Another consideration is the DALI line current consumption. A maximum of 250mA is allowed per DALI line (This depends on the DALI line power supply used). Each DALI ballast will draw 2mA or less.
To allow for future changes and additions, a maximum of 50-55 addresses should be used when designing any DALI controlled lighting system.
