How does the alarm relay on a redundant power supply (eg. BMXCPS4022) operate when in a redundant configuration?

If one CPS has failed (no output power and OK LED is not ON) or there is no supply to it, then the alarm output relay will open on that CPS. This is independent of the other CPS. The second CPS, if operating normally, will have its alarm output closed, regardless of the status of the failed CPS. You can also use the %SW124 bit to give you the status of your redundant power supply pair.

On the Altivar drives, in CiA402 profile, what sequence is written to run drive in Reverse?

Issue:
On the Altivar drives, in CiA402 profile, what sequence is written to run drive in Reverse?

Product LIne:
Altivar drives with serial communication control in CiA-402 (Drivecom) Mode of operation.

Environment:
All current production models with the exception of the ATV212 series, all serial numbers

Cause:
To issue a run command forward in CiA402 profile, you must write the sequence 6,7,15 to the command word.  What sequence should be written to run reverse?

Resolution:
In order to run, Bits 0-3 must be all high, this translates to decimal value of 15.  Bit 11 of the control word determines the direction of the the drive.  When bits 0,1,2,3 are high  (decimal 15) the drive runs in Forward direction.  When bits 0,1,2,3,11 are high (decimal 2063) the drive runs in Reverse direction.

What is the recommended wire size for the encoder cards VW3A3401, VW3A3402, VW3A3403, VW3A3404, VW3A3405, VW3A3406, VW3A3407, VW3A3408, VW3A3409 and VW3A3411?

Issue:
What is the recommended wire size for the encoder cards?

Product Line:
ATV71 with VW3A3401, VW3A3402, VW3A3403, VW3A3404, VW3A3405, VW3A3406, VW3A3407, VW3A3408, VW3A3409 and VW3A3411

Environment:
All

Cause:
Needs to know the wire size for the encoder option cards.

Resolution:
See the attached document and find wire size.

I am not able to operate my Smart Plug on Wiser 1 EER models

Issue:
Customer can not operate the Wiser switch devices on the Wiser web portal.  This problem can apply to any of the 3 switch devices: smart plug, load control relay, large load controller.

Product Line:
Wiser Home Management System (version 1 USA model only)
Smart Plugs:  EER41200, EER40200
Load Control Relay:  EER42300,  EER42200
Large Load Relay:  EER260LLCR

Environment:
https://www.wiserenergy.com

Cause:
First, all Wiser devices that measure energy must be added to the home's Wiser network.  Next, the home owner must subscribe to either the Smart Energy Plus or Smart Energy Premium Service Plans.    Switch Device control is not included in the Smart Energy Basic Plan.  Finally, these switch devices which also measure the load attached to them must be must be configured as sub-meters of the main meter.

Resolution:
1.  Confirm that the device has been added to your Wiser network.  On wiserenergy.com, go to the Settings tab.  Click on Device list and located the device of question.  If it is not in the Device List, then add the device.
2.  Confirm that your account is Smart Energy Plus or Premium level.   There is no way at this time (January 2014) to check this on wiserenergy.com.   Wiser Technical support can check the customer service plan level.  If the user's needs to update his service plan, then Wiser Technical Support must delete the User's Account.  The User must then re-register his Gateway and recreate the home Wiser network.
3.  Finally, configure the switch device to be a sub-meter of the main meter.  This task can be accomplished in 2 different ways.   On the wiserenergy.com Settings Tab, Device List, after a switch device or second power monitor is added to the Wiser Network, then a link for Advanced Meter Settings should appear in the lower right corner of the page.    Use the Advance Meter Settings to set the main meter as the upstream or parent meter of the switch device.   The other way to do this same task is on the Energy Screen, under Settings & Bill Information, there will be a Manage Energy Device section.   Use that section to program the switch device as a submeter of the main device.

More information about how to use the Wiser Home Management System may be found in a series of video tutorials published on sub meter.  Link to the the entire playlist of tutorials here.    Video #2, Adding and Controlleing Devices most closely pertains to this topic.   Click here to go to Video #2.

What communication options are available for the ATV600 series Process drives?

Issue:
What communication protocols are available for the ATV600 drives?

Product line:
Altivar process 600, 630, 650.

Environment:
all

Cause:
n/a

Resolution:
The ATV600 series drives comes standard with 3x RJ45 communication ports.  1 port is Ethernet/Modbus TCP, 2 ports are Modbus serial.
 - Ethernet port
          - Modbus TCP message handling is based on the Modbus protocol
          - SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol)
          - The FDR (Fast Device Replacement) service allows automatic reconfiguration of a new device installed to replace an existing device
          - Device security is reinforced by disabling some unused services as well as managing a list of authorized devices
          - Setup and adjustment tools (SoMove, Unity with DTM) can be connected locally or remotely
          - The embedded Web server is used to display operating data and dashboards as well as to configure and diagnose system elements from any web browser

These numerous services offered by the Ethernet port mean that Altivar Process drives can be integrated into Schneider Electric solutions.

- Serial ports
          - One port dedicated to field network operation for exchanging data with other devices via the Modbus protocol
          - A second dedicated port for the multidrop connection of the following HMIs and configuration tools:
          - The remote graphic display terminal supplied with the drive
          - A Magelis industrial HMI terminal
          - A PC with SoMove or Unity setup software

Optional communication modules
The Altivar Process drive can also be connected to other industrial communication buses and networks by using one of the communication modules available as an
option. Communication cards are supplied in “cassette” format for ease of mounting/removal.

- EtherNet/IP and Modbus TCP Dual port, CANopen, PROFINET**, PROFIBUS DP V1**, DeviceNet and BACnet.
Please note that Lonworks is not available for the ATV600 series drives.  An external gateway will be required.

**PROFINET and PROFIBUS DP V1 modules also support the Profidrive and CiA402
