How to change the display settings of energy units from MWh to kWh in ME Meter.

Depending on the ME meter version, meter will automatically select the appropriate units and therefore it is not possible to modify the energy units. From 40/5 to 150/5 CT ratio, the energy unit display is KWh and from 200/5 to 6000/5 CT ratio, the energy unit display is MWh.

        CT Setting:
To change the CT settings hold down the button on the Front Face of the ME Meter for more than 5 sec when on the CT Rating display. After approximately 5 sec the display will start blinking, now enter the CT setting. Once again hold the button till the display stop flashing, to ensure that the entry is saved.

Can BPH motors be used with the Lexiium 32 Servo drives?

Yes, the BPH motors are compatible with Lexium 32 servo drives. They are to be characterized as third party motors.  If using a BPH motor with resolver, you will need to use a resolver option card P/N : VW3 M3 401. If using a BPH motor with encoder feedback, you will need to use an encoder option card.VW3 M3 403 (for hiperface encoder) along with a Lexum 32 modular drive (32M). The third party motor commissioning tool within SoMove helps calculate the offset to commutate the motor.

        How do I scale 0 - 4095 to 6400 - 32000 using 984 Ladder Logic?

        The following network scales data from 0-4095 to 6400 - 32,000 when 4-20ma (6400 = 4 mA, 32,000 = 20 mA) outputs are required
but a 0-20ma analog output is used. .

Register 400001 and 400002 are used together in the top node of the EMTH Block, where 400001 is
always 0000 data and 400002 is the variable data, 0-4095, to be scaled. Register 400003, displayed in data
format float, is a fixed floating point value that the user enters as 6.25153 (note that two registers are
used to create the floating point value, 400003 & 400004 in this example). Register 400005 (and 400006)
is the floating point result of the integer and floating point multiplication (EMTH block).

The FTOI (Floating Point TO Integer) block converts the floating point result of registers 400005
and 400006 to an integer value in a single register 400007.

The AD16 block adds the top node register 400007 to the middle node constant 6400 and places
the result in register 400009. This register will then map to one of the analog outputs.

The following data screens shows the input values of 0 and 4095 and there corresponding results.

        ClearSCADA: WebX upgrade in ClearSCADA 2015 R1, 2015 R2 and 2017

ClearSCADA's new WebX server installs differently depending on the version of ClearSCADA that you have:

         Background

Starting with ClearSCADA 2015 R1, a new WebX server has been included in the ClearSCADA software package along with the original WebX client.  This new WebX server utilizes the Internet Information Services Manager (IIS) in order to facilitate its connection.  ClearSCADA users may choose to view WebX by way of either the original WebX client or by way of a WebX client connection to the new WebX server.

ClearSCADA 2015 R1 featured ClearSCADA Mobile and the new WebX bundled into a single feature. Bundling them together was found to be less flexible and reliable as opposed to having these features separated.

ClearSCADA 2015 R2 had both ClearSCADA Mobile and the new WebX separated, however the Mobile Companion still had to be tied to a Web server. Hence it was actually tied to the old Web server components and was installed along with it. This would be why it was not in the list as a separate feature in 2015 R2 (Control Panel | Programs and Features).

Starting from ClearSCADA 2017 the total separation of the two components was completed and the new WebX started to appear as a separate feature (in Control Panel | Programs and Features).

        Installation

Prior to ClearSCADA 2015 R1, WebX installed quietly as part of the standard ClearSCADA installation (full or standard installation).

Starting with ClearSCADA 2015 R1, the installer runs through the installation of most of the ClearSCADA components first, then it runs through the installation of the new WebX component.  The user is prompted to install the new WebX upon completion of the installation of the other ClearSCADA components (CS server, data access components, ViewX, etc).

A user simply needs to start the installation process by selecting the "Install ClearSCADA " option from the splash screen (valid for ClearSCADA 2015 R1, ClearSCADA 2015 R2 and ClearSCADA 2017).  These screens look as follows:

Starting with ClearSCADA 2017 R2, the new WebX component installation has been moved to its own installer.  This is covered in a separate knowledge base article; FA366071 ClearSCADA: Configuring the new WebX in ClearSCADA 2017 R2.

How to fix HTTP Error 405 Method Not Allowed in ClearSCADA Mobile?

A common cause of this error is the WebDAV Publishing feature being installed as a part of Internet Information Services. This feature may block certain HTTP verbs needed for ClearSCADA Mobile to function correctly. Please follow the steps below for resolution:

        1. Launch Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager and locate the ClearScadaMobile website.
        2. Click on the ClearScadaMobile website and open Handler Mappings by locating this feature in the IIS section, right clicking on it and selecting Open Feature.
        3. In Handler Mappings, locate the WebDAV handler and double click on it to view its properties.
        4. In the Edit Module Mappings window, click on Request Restrictions.
        5. Once the Request Restrictions window is shown, click on the Verbs tab, select All Verbs and click OK to apply the change.
        6. Select the ClearScadaMobile website again and restart the website by clicking on Restart in the Manage Website section.
        7. Restart the mobile application in the mobile device and try to connect again.

The mobile website is named ClearSCADA in ClearSCADA 2015 R1.
It is named ClearScadaMobile in other versions of ClearSCADA.

What does a Unity Quantum "Dead error 405 81" indicate?

Dead error 405 is defined as "time out waiting for Modbus Plus"
Sub code 81 means "Prom Checksum error"
During operation the MB+ processor periodically performs self tests. This error means that the computed checksum was bad.

Can i get a 2015 with an ID label in red?

What is the maximum number of registers the Modbus Device Importer (MDI) can configure and support?

What is the maximum number of registers the Modbus Device Importer(MDI) can configure and support?

        Product Line
        ION Enterprise 5.6, ION Enterprise 6.0, SPM 7.0.1, PME 7.2.x, PME 8.x

        Cause
User would like to know maximum number of registers the Modbus Device Importer(MDI) can be configured and supported.

        Environment
Creating device type thorough Modbus Device Importer (MDI)

        Resolution

When configuring MDI, user will have to create Managers then Modules and then registers. Therefore, they each have their own limitation as described below.

User can have maximum of 128 Managers, 4095 modules per each manager, and 255 registers per each module(by convention).

It is possible to have multiple managers of the same type in the MDI (the translators definitely don't care about this).

These limits are for compatibility with the MDI, to make it easier to validate what is an unused handle when automatically allocating new handles.

NOTE: In previous versions of the MDI the maximum was around 300-400 registers total. This limit was removed in version 5.6 of ION Enterprise when extensions logging support was added to the MDI.

        How to upgrade ClearSCADA Mobile?

ClearSCADA Mobile installs differently depending on the version of ClearSCADA that is being used:

ClearSCADA 2015 R1 featured ClearSCADA Mobile and WebX bundled into a single feature.

ClearSCADA 2015 R2 had both ClearSCADA Mobile and WebX separated, however, the Mobile Companion still had to be tied to a Web server.  Hence it was actually tied to the old We server components and was installed along with it.

Starting from ClearSCADA 2017, the total separation of the two components (ClearSCADA Mobile and WebX) was completed.

ClearSCADA Mobile needs to be upgraded after an upgrade of ClearSCADA takes place. To upgrade ClearSCADA Mobile, the following steps need to be followed:

Upgrading from ClearSCADA Mobile 2015 R1 to ClearSCADA Mobile 2015 R2
        1. Make a backup of your existing Mobile configuration by making a copy of the "MobileConfig.sdf" file located in "C:\ProgramData\Schneider Electric\ClearSCADA Mobile"
          • This file contains the license information and configuration of the systems and devices
          • Keep a copy of this file in a different location in case it is needed
        2. Uninstall the existing version ClearSCADA Mobile from Windows Control Panel -> Programs and Features
          • Please note that your Mobile configuration should stay untouched even after removing ClearSCADA Mobile as long as the MobileConfig.sdf file is present at the original location
        3. Launch Microsoft Internet Information Services Manager and make sure that "ClearScadaMobile" site is not present
          • If the site is still present after uninstalling ClearSCADA Mobile, remove it manually by right clicking on it and selecting "Remove"
          • Please note that if you are upgrading from ClearSCADA 2015 R1, the mobile site is a part of the "ClearSCADA" site
        4. Launch ClearSCADA installer and select "Install ClearSCADA Mobile" to install the new version of the software and follow the installation steps
        5. Once installed, launch ClearSCADA Mobile Configuration to make sure your original configuration is still present

Upgrading from ClearSCADA Mobile 2015 R2 or newer

The above steps do not need to be followed when upgrading ClearSCADA Mobile from version 2015 R2 or newer (i.e. 2017, 2017 R2).  Simply run the installer from the splash screen as shown in the screen shot below

Is it possible to change how Lexium 23 responds to alarm 014 or alarm 015 when reaching the end of travel limit switches?

Reaching end of travel limit switches will always result in a stop of motion and the respective alarm code being displayed.
This behavior is firmware related and can not be modified.
There are no provisions to change this behavior.

When Lexium 23 reaches the end of travel limit swiches it responds by stopping motion and displaying alarm 014 or alarm 015, depending on the direction of travel when reaching the limit switch.
To recover from this event you must reset the alarm and then create movement in the opposite direction of the limit switch that has been reached.

PowerSCADA Expert - Maximum number of IODevices of MODNET type

        Customer request:
To integrate in the PowerSCADA Expert (PSE) project 400 sets of Ethernet devices which support Modbus TCP protocol.
The question was if all the devices can be integrated to one PSE Server, and the SCADA system is redundant.
In the legacy software version, one IOServer could only have one TCP/IP Board and 255 Ports can be created on that type of Board.
Can we integrate all the devices into one PSE Server? If yes, then how to configure the communication including IO Server, Board, Port and IODevice?

        Resolution:
The maximum limit in PowerSCADA software is of 16383 IODevices per project and 4095 simultaneous multiple protocols.
BOARD types have to be unique per IOServer.
You may find reference of the word "Channel" in various documentation resources.
To be clear, PORT = Channel.
PORT number limits are hardcoded into each communication driver.
The TCPIP driver (TCPIP.DLL) supports 512 PORTS per board since DLL version 2.4.4.0, thus MODNET driver (MODNET.DLL) supports 512 PORTS (channels) since driver version 2.6.21.0.

These limits are theoretical limits, in reality there are Kernel Queues that introduce another limitation.
[Kernel]Queue has a max of 5000 (which is also default value), but some drivers like Modnet consume more queues per channel than others.
Modnet consumes 13 Kernel Queues per PORT.
As a result, a 512 hardcoded limit for Modnet PORTs will be downgraded to 300-350 because of these queues.
So, consider the limit at 350 MODNET PORTS per BOARD (per IOServer).
If you use ModbusTCP/RTU Gateways, then you can have thousands of IODevices on the same IOServer, just because for each of the 350 PORTS you could have several different IODevices, with different Addresses (UnitID).
For example: 1 Gateway to collect 5 SEPAMs means: 5 IODevices (5 different IODevice Addresses), 1 PORT (the same PORT that uses Special Options for Gateway's IP address), 1 BOARD (TCPIP).

To overcome the 350 PORTS limit, more IOServers are needed.

Further, another reduction should be made, imposed by the recommended number of IODevices per IOServer.
In the same project, the same Cluster, the same Network Address, the PowerSCADA team recommendation (rule) is: either 50000 tags or 250 IODevices per IOServer. Whichever comes first.
To create another IOServer in the same Cluster and the same Network Address, simply add another IOServer but specify a different Port (this is the Port from the IO Server dialog window).
Doing so, you will need to define different Ports for the extra IOServers: default is 2082, so you may add any unused TCP port: 3082 for second IOServer, 4082 for third IOServer and so on.

Here are some configuration screenshots (using Excel and DBF Add-in) to illustrate the IODevices distribution per IOServers:

Is Saturn double GPO with double USB?

Unfortunately, Saturn 4025 is available with a single USB only.
No, unfortunately a double USB mechanism in not available in the Saturn Series.

There are single outlets with double USB charging mechanisms in the 2015USB2C and C2015USB2C.

As another alternative in the ICONIC series we now offer a double outlet double USB charger. The part number is a 3025USB2.
