The NetShelter CX Enclosure Brochure shows the number of outlets and it does not match the number of ports on the PDUs.

The numbers actually decrease from the 18U, to the 24U, to the 38U cabinets.

Resolution:
The number of ports shown on this document is the number of AVAILABLE ports in each cabinet.
Each cabinet contains a different number of fan units which plug into the PDU. So, as the cabinets increase in size the number of available ports are reduced.
The 18U cabinet has one fan module, the 24U has two fan modules, the 38U has three fan modules.

A customer's main power supply is 380Vac, and his motor nominal voltage is 440Vac. Could the motor output voltage also reache to 440Vac at nominal speed if "Uns" is set to 440? Is there any problem of this setting?

Causes and Fixes

It's not possible for the inverter to provide a output voltage upper to the main supply ( lower possible ). So in your case you can try to supply the motor under 380 V, you will obtain instability but depend to the application.

The address on the module is selected via dip switches on the module. A maximum of eight SCADAPack 5607 I/O type modules may be added to a system

The ain0_type parameter sets the analog input type for analog input channel 1.

There are four input types available.

  • An ain_type of 0 sets the input type to measure 0 to 5V input signals.
  • An ain_type of 1 sets the input type to measure 0 to 10V input signals.

Resolution
The 8000 series has 512 MB of memory which is used by the firmware and ION framework.  This 512 MB of memory is not configurable by the end user, however.  The user only has access to manage the logging memory, which is 10 MB in size, and the FTP site memory.  More information on the FTP site memory can be found in article FA317553  ION Setup can configure how the on-board logging memory is allocated through the Setup Assistant.

It is required to be able to determine the CM series error in order to provide troubleshooting solutions.

Resolution
The red maintenance LED, located next to the wrench symbol on the circuit monitor, indicates a potential hardware or firmware problem in the circuit monitor.

Options available to determine error code:
1. With a display: navigate to Main Menu>Diagnostics>Maintenance LED. This will provide the applicable error message(s).

2. Using software: see the attached CM3&4 Register List, specifically registers 3050 and 3051 as these will indicate an error and which component of the meter is affected. In addition, the Register-Based Diagnostic Error Log can be viewed starting on register 380 (register range 380-500; ordered from most recent event to oldest) - see the 'Misc Control Reg' Tab.

Often, a firmware upgrade or reinstall will resolve most maintenance issues. For instructions on upgrading the firmware, please see article FA237920. If the error is noted as a continuous reset, try to power cycle the unit. However, if the maintenance LED remains illuminated after these attempts, the unit may need to sent in for repair or replacement.

This document is designed to provide Information on Online and On Battery operation of 3:1 Symmetra UPS systems


Resolution

When a Symmetra 3:1 is operating On-Line it is drawing balanced power from all 3 phases, i.e., it is drawing the same current from each of the 3 phases. This is typically 25 amps per phase with a maximum 16KVA load. The 3 phase power is fed to all the Power Modules where it is filtered and converted to single phase and sent to the output. The nominal input voltage range is 380 or 400 or 415.

(220 x 1.7 = 380; 230 x 1.7 = 400; 240 x 1.7 = 415. Where 1.7 = square root of 3)

The Symmetra 3:1 will run On-Line for inputs between 290 VAC and 480VAC. The output voltage can be set to either 220 / 230 / 240 VAC at 50 or 60 Hertz.

If any one of the phases fails, the Symmetra will still operate On-Line but will pull more current from the other 2 phases. In this case it will draw no more than 60 amps per phase . If phase A or B fails, then the PowerView will report "Bypass Out of Range". If phase C fails, there is no notification message on PowerView. You will manually have to check the PowerView and read the input voltages.

If a second phase fails, then the Symmetra will go to On Battery operation and report "Bypass Out of Range" on the PowerView. Likewise, if all 3 phases fail it will go to On Battery operation.

When Symmetra 3:1 is On Battery it will provide single phase output power. The output voltage can be set 220 / 230 / 240 VAC. The output frequency can also be set to either 50Hz or 60Hz.

Please Note: While current is evenly distributed across all three phases while Symmetra 3:1 is on-line, all current will draw from phase 1 if the UPS is in bypass unless the optional Symmetra Bypass Transformer is in use.


What is the maximum wire length for digital inputs and outputs on Powerlogic meters?

There is no absolute maximum distance of I/O wiring and actual length depends on several factors including:
  • The field voltage source
  • Wire AWG and manufacture specs
  • Wire type
  • Electrical noise and environment 
  • Meter specs 
* The calculations below are meant to be a rough estimation and they are not accurate unless all the factors are considered *

Digital Input Example:

The PM800 equipped with a PM8M2222 Digital I/O extender with field source of 120 Vac. The wire to be used is a 16 AWG with a resistance of 4.016 ohm per 1000 feet. The PM800's digital input's turn on voltage is 20 Volts and the maximum current draw is 2 mA.

Vdrop= Current X R (per1000 feet) *2*length
Vinput= Vsource - Vdrop

The Vinput needs to exceed the turn on voltage in order for the meter to recognize the signal. In this example, the theoretical maximum would be in the hundreds of thousands of feet. Needless to say, noise as well as other factors will affect the quality of the signal and practically limiting the cable run.

Digital Output Example

A similar calculation can be established for digital outputs once the specifications are known. For example, the ION 7650 has a maximum load of 3 A @ 380 VAC, hence the rated burden is 126.666 ohm. The total loop resistance should be less than the rated burden.  A 16 AWG wire has a resistance of 4.016 ohms per 1000 feet and the maximum theoretical distance that would sustain current without significant voltage drop would be 31,500 feet. Moreover, Form A digital output have a similar calculation given the maximum load voltage and current as well as the input source. For example, if the turn on is 20 volts on a PLC and the ION 7650's form A relay is rated at 80mA @ 30 VDC then :
Vdrop= Current X R (per1000 feet) *2*length
Vinput= Vsource - Vdrop
The theoretical maximum attainable distance would be around 15,600 feet for a 16 AWG wire originating from the ION7650's I/O output.
