C/C++ program can be downloaded in the target SCADAPack 32 or SCADAPack 3xx series controller only by using C/C++ Program Loader. C/C++ Program Loader is part of the TelePACE Studio or SCADAPack Configurator software. There is no a standalone C/C++ Program Loader available for SCADAPack controllers.

There are two options:

1. ioRead/Write functions
    Use ioRead/Write functions if there’s no need to regularly collect the data.

2. Register Assignment (addRegAssignment and databaseRead/Write functions)

    The Register Assignment uses the ioRead/Write functions itself.  If regular calls are required, or if you want an easier method to get the data into Mdbus registers then use Register Assignment.

The NetShelter CX Enclosure Brochure shows the number of outlets and it does not match the number of ports on the PDUs.

The numbers actually decrease from the 18U, to the 24U, to the 38U cabinets.

Resolution:
The number of ports shown on this document is the number of AVAILABLE ports in each cabinet.
Each cabinet contains a different number of fan units which plug into the PDU. So, as the cabinets increase in size the number of available ports are reduced.
The 18U cabinet has one fan module, the 24U has two fan modules, the 38U has three fan modules.

The first custom quantity created does not update on GFX screens

SMS 3.x only

The first custom quantity created in System Manager Software (SMS) 3.x will not display correctly on a GFX diagram. It will appear as if it is not being updated. After creating the custom quantity, save the changes and then go back in and delete it. Next, create a new custom quantity with the same name and reassign the GFX block to that quantity. This has been corrected in SMS 4.x.

A customer's main power supply is 380Vac, and his motor nominal voltage is 440Vac. Could the motor output voltage also reache to 440Vac at nominal speed if "Uns" is set to 440? Is there any problem of this setting?

Causes and Fixes

It's not possible for the inverter to provide a output voltage upper to the main supply ( lower possible ). So in your case you can try to supply the motor under 380 V, you will obtain instability but depend to the application.

Incomplete uninstallation

Solution:
Remove PowerChute Network Shutdown, by deleting the folders and registry keys created by the install.

Warning: Using the Registry Editor incorrectly can cause serious system wide problems that may require you to reinstall Windows to correct them. Schneider Electric  and Microsoft can not guarantee that any problems resulting from the use of Registry Editor can be solved. Use this tool at your own risk.

1. Make sure the "PowerChute network shutdown" service is stopped if it exists.
NOTE: See attached PDF for list of PCNS 3.x and 4.x registry keys

2. Delete the following folders through Windows Explorer or My Computer:
C:\Program Files\PowerChute If you were unable to successfully stop the PowerChute network shutdown service in step 1 you may not be able to completely delete the files due to some files being currently in use. In this case, continue to the following steps and reboot after making the registry changes. After the machine has rebooted you should be able to remove the files.

3. Go to the start menu, then run, and type regedit.

4. Find and delete the following keys. Note… some keys may require a change of security. Keys such as

5. Exit the registry and try the installation again. A reboot may be necessary after making the registry changes if the original uninstallation problem was caused by the PowerChute network shutdown service being frozen.

Solution:

To resolve the issue restart the APC Data Service.

On Windows Vista and Windows 7 go to Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Services

 

Double click on APC Data Service and select start.

Cause:

The NetBotz version-2 420 and 500 units with a PSM key as well as the NetBotz version-3 rack mount 450 and 550/570 as well as the wall mount 455 can serially connect to the AP79xx series of rack mount PDUs. Connecting the NBAC0226 USB to serial cable to the bot and connecting the 940-0144 cable from the NBAC0226 to the RJ9 serial port of the PDU will allow control of the outlets of the AP79xx.

Currently, version 3x firmware on the rPDU will result in a communications error. In the Advanced View application log, we see an event similar to the following:

Resolution:

APC customers must use rPDU 274 firmware on the PDU for this procedure.Only those PDUs supporting that version of software should be connected.

Additional info:
There is a limit to how many rPDU's can be managed by each model appliance:

NetBotz 420 supports up to 4 rPDU's.
NetBotz 500 supports up to 16 rPDU's.
NetBotz 450, 455, and 550 support up to 12 rPDU's.

Cause:

This Affects customers who use custom SNMP clients that sort OID data by predetermined index values.

Prior to Botzware 3.1, the device's SNMP agent maintained OID data in a way that caused some OID data to be skipped prior to sending data back to the client. So even though an OID's element existed and was active on the target device, its data may never be captured by an SNMP GET or WALK query, because the OID data would be simply overlooked.

Resolution:

Botzware starting with 3.1 uses a different scheme to internally track OID data. While this resolves the problem seen in previous versions, the order in which multiple OID data is returned for an SNMP WALK query now differs from previous Botzware versions. For anyone using a fixed-indexed scheme to associate the assumed arrival order of OID data to an index value at the client, incorrect sorting at the client may occur.

Custom SNMP clients using predetermined index values to sort OID data will need to be reworked to be aware of the returned OID index value and its variable's instance for each OID.

SCADAPack Workbench is the update to ISaGRAF 3.55 for SCADAPack Standard. Consideration should be taken for programming language changes along with importing ISaGRAF 3.55 projects. Below is a list of key differences for SCADAPack Standard (CAM3) only.

Functional Limitations Associated with this Workbench (6.3) Release

The following items outline limitations and restrictions associated with this release that should be understood by existing users already using the existing Workbench 3.x with target 3.x programs.

IEC 61131-3 Programming Language Support

The new SCADAPack Workbench (WB6) supports the most commonly used programming languages in the 61131-3 suite of languages. The fully supported languages below that may be imported and edited within the new Workbench include:

  • Ladder Diagrams (LD)
  • Function Block Diagrams (FBD)
  • Structured Text (ST)

The following languages are not supported for editing or modification within the new Workbench, however they may be imported from an existing target 3 *.hie project file and then compiled, downloaded, and monitored for debug purposes.

  • Instruction List (IL)
  • Sequential Function Chart (SFC)
  • Flow Chart (FC) - (this is an ISaGRAF specific language that is not part of the IEC 61131-3 standard)

Project Passwords

This feature previously available in Workbench 3.x is not supported in the initial release of the new workbench. If the Workbench 3.x project has been encrypted, each password must be removed from existing target 3.x project file prior to import into the new Workbench. If the project has not been encrypted, any passwords will simply be ignored on import, therefore the resulting project in the new Workbench will not include the passwords.

Upload (reading) of Existing Projects from SCADAPack Controllers

Projects cannot be read from controllers using the SCADAPack Workbench CAM3. Any existing projects must be imported into the new workbench from raw project files (*.hie files) created with Workbench 3.x. If connecting to a SCADApack in the field, the user MUST have a local copy of the solution.

Archived Files (.pia files) are not supported

Archived files are not supported, therefore any existing *.pia files must be restored so that the complete raw project file from Workbench 3.x is available to facilitate import into the new Workbench 6.3.

Import/Export of Function Blocks

The new SCADAPack Workbench does not support import/export of function blocks in the same manner as the legacy Workbench 3.x. In place of the import/export, the functions blocks may be copied from one project to another and you can use dependencies. See "Managing SCADApack Target 3 Libraries" in the SCADAPack technical help documentation for more information.

Printing

Support for printing has been updated in the SCADApack Workbench 6.4 release. See "Generate Documentation" in the ACP technical help documentaiton.

Online Programming

Although target 5 programs are supported with the new Workbench for SCADAPack E, the additional functionality associated with Target 5, such as online programming improvements and
nested function blocks, are not available on the SCADAPacks running target 3 programs. Workbench 6.3 supports only CAM3/Target 3 in the standard SCADAPack, and CAM5/Target 5 in the SCADAPack E. For clarification, a table is included below showing the CAM versions and runtime target support associated with each workbench.

Resolution
The 8000 series has 512 MB of memory which is used by the firmware and ION framework.  This 512 MB of memory is not configurable by the end user, however.  The user only has access to manage the logging memory, which is 10 MB in size, and the FTP site memory.  More information on the FTP site memory can be found in article FA317553  ION Setup can configure how the on-board logging memory is allocated through the Setup Assistant.
