Maximum number of rows and columns allowed in Unity Pro FBD

The section area (Number of Rows X Columns) cannot exceed the maximum size of 86,400 grids, e.g. 240 x 360 or 1,440 x 60. The number of rows and columns will impact one another, e.g. the number of rows is determined by the internal calculation 86,400 / number of columns. (limited to the lower tenth).

How do I calculate the RPM's of a stepping motor?

Formula for calculating stepping motor speed.
 
Below is the RPM formula for steppering motor drives that use pulse signals to create motion.
RPM = a/360 * fz * 60

RPM = Revolutions per minute.
“a” = step angle
“fz” = pulse frequency in hertz
 
Example 1:  Drive step resolution is set for 1000 steps per revolution. 
Find step angle: 360 (degrees of rotation) divided by 1000 (steps per revolution) = .36 (degrees of rotation per step)
With input frequency of 1000hz, .36 / 360 * 1000 * 60 = 60 rpm
Example 2: Drive step resolution is set for 500 steps per revolution.
Find step angle: 360 (degrees of rotation) divided by 500 (steps per revolution) = .72 (degrees of rotation per step)
With input frequency of 1000hz, .72 / 360 * 1000 * 60 = 120 rpm.
 
To find required frequency to meet desired speed we must find Fz:
RPM / ( (a/360) * 60) = Fz

Step 1. Divide step angle by 360:  .36/360 = .001,  then multiply by 60 (seconds) .001 * 60 = .06
Step 2. Divide desired speed by .06: Desired speed of 500 rpm’s.   Therefore ; 500 / .06 = 8333.33   ( 8333.33 is the frequency in hertz required to reach 500 rpm’s for drive set at 1000 steps per revolution)

The catalogue tell you :
-'' if starting and stpopping conditions are severe, or if the starting current must be controlled, it is preferable to use an ATS48 unit''.
- ''beyond this starting duty, the start unit must be derated by one size''.

However , we thinks when the number of start/stop is considerable and it would have been preferable to use a variable speed drive.

Note:  The LH4 softstart family is obsolete. It was replaced by the ATS01 softstart, or in the case of the larger LH4's the ATS22.

How quickly will the HS Power Meter Module fill the on board memory of an ION 7550/7650 meter?

The calculation in this article shows how much time it would take for a High Speed (HS) Power Meter Module to fill 10MB on-board memory of ION 7550/7560. HS Power Meter Module updates their measurement as fast as once per half cycle (rather than once per second) or twice in every cycle.
The assumptions made are as follows:


  • 1. On board memory size is 10MB

    2. Using firmware version 360 or later for the meter

    3. The meter has only one data recorder module with six inputs (3 phase voltage, 3 phase current)

    4. No waveform recorder module or event log controller module is in use

    5. The HS Power Meter Module is updating twice in every cycle

    •  

      If we are working on a 60 Hz system, then there will be 120 updates in one second.

       

      Each phase voltage or phase current data takes 5 byte of space and each time stamp takes 8 byte of space.

      That is, each update will be 38 byte long (=6X5 byte+8 byte). This 38 byte of memory will be called log.

      The total on board memory is 10 MB or 10485760 byte (1MB= 1024 KB, 1 KB= 1024 byte).

      Therefore, the on board memory can hold 275941.0526 logs.

      In one second there are 120 logs which will fill the entire memory in 2299.508 seconds or in .63875 hour or 38.32500 minute.

      Due to this tremendous rate, HS Power Meter Module is only used for recording sub-second events (for example transients) over a very brief period.

This firmware release supports EN50160:2010 (Edition 4) and IEC 61000 4-30 Edition 3. EN50160 is a European standard that defines the voltage characteristics of the electricity supplied by public distribution systems. The latest firmware version for this meter now supports the EN50160:2010 (Edition 4) standard. The IEC 61000-4-30 (4-30) standard defines methods for measurement and interpretation of power quality parameters in 50/60 Hz AC power supply systems. The standard describes measurement methods for relevant parameters to obtain reliable, repeatable and comparable results using any compliant meter. 
 
V400 
V400 is a general firmware release that adds support for new metering hardware. In addition this firmware release reduces the 7x50e and 7x50s variants into one allowing for IEC61850 and10Meg of logging memory to occur upon the same device. V400 adds compatibility for the -05 hardware revision option. This can be found as the last two digits of a meters serial number. V400 will NOT be compatible with previous versions of hardware ( -04 or earlier). In addition previous firmware revisions (pre V400) will not be compatible with the -05 hardware. We have consolidated the e (IEC61850) and s (standard) variants into one release. This means ALL devices ordered with V400 will now contain IEC61850 functionality as well as contain the 10M logging memory. Both features can be implemented in frameworks simultaneously. NOTE: To support the new features in v400, download the latest version of ION Setup from the website. 
 
V401/374
*The V374s version is the standard version. *The V374e version is for IEC61850 protocol support. This firmware is for the older hardware platform (RevA, if you like). The equivalent firmware for the RevB hardware platform is V401.

Firmware V373 is a general firmware release that adds support for the following features: (1) Access to more voltage data (2) Enhanced interharmonic distortion calculation (3) Display module enhancements (4) initial release of the PowerLogic Remote Display and also includes security enhancements.
