PM1000, PM1200, and EM6400 block registers

Certain registers must be read as a "block" from the PM1000, PM1200, and EM6400 meters. In order to read these registers, one must set the starting register to 3001, then 20 registers must be read in a single read. Attempting to read these registers in any other manner will result in either a time out or an error. The example in the picture below shows an scenario.

Note: "Function Code: O3H Read" is stating that these registers are Holding Registers.
The PowerLogic PM1000 Series Power Meters User Manual can be found here. It includes the PM1000/PM1200/EM6400 register list.

What can cause an INFD or internal error 13 on the ATV630 and ATV930 Process Drives?

Issue:
What is the INFD fault on the ATV630 and ATV930 drives?

Product Line:
ATV630 ATV930

Environment:
All model numbers, all serial numbers

Cause:
One or more Brick are not in operation
Current transformer of the brick damaged

Resolution:

  • Check the high speed link cables (GG45) on the Power board (CMP6) and the Inverter Bricks (CMI1).  This happens if not all pins of the connector have a good connection.
  • Measurement of the U/V/W phase currents of each brick on the paralleling choke to identify the brick with less output current.
  • Manual IGBT test of each Brick with a multimeter (open Motor choke connections)
  • Check the Inverter board and the CMI1 board (the communication board on the Inverter board) for visible damages.
  • Run the motor for a certain time (if possible) and check the thermal state of each brick.  The one with a lower temperature does not switch on the IGBTs and has to be replaced.

How to Terminate All Sessions Prior to Restoring a Database

Issue
Cannot restore a database.  Restore Database operation fails reporting that exclusive access could not be obtained because the database is in use.

Product
Microsoft SQL Server

Environment
SQL Server 2005, SQL Server 2008 R2, SQL Server 2012, SQL Server 2014

Cause
Before an existing database can be restored, there should be no connections using the database. If the database is currently in use the RESTORE command fails with below error:
Msg 3101, Level 16, State 1, Line 2
Exclusive access could not be obtained because the database is in use.
Msg 3013, Level 16, State 1, Line 2
RESTORE DATABASE is terminating abnormally.

Resolution
To avoid this, we need to terminate all sessions which using the database. All sessions using the database can be obtained
by executing the system stored procedure sp_who2
or by querying the sys.dm_exec_sessions table as:

SELECT   session_id
FROM     sys.dm_exec_sessions
WHERE    DB_NAME(database_id) = 'RestoringDatabaseName'

You need to terminate each of the sessions returned individually by using KILL command.

If there are large number of sessions to terminate, or you need to do this on a routinely, this can be a lengthy and tedious process.
You can *automate* this using below script, which takes database name as input, and terminates all sessions connecting to it.

USE [master]
GO

DECLARE @dbName SYSNAME
DECLARE @sqlCmd VARCHAR(MAX)

SET @sqlCmd = ''
SET @dbName = 'RestoringDatabaseName' -- Change database name here

SELECT   @sqlCmd = @sqlCmd + 'KILL ' + CAST(session_id AS VARCHAR) +
         CHAR(13)
FROM     sys.dm_exec_sessions
WHERE    DB_NAME(database_id) = @dbName

PRINT @sqlCmd

--Uncomment below line to kill
--EXEC (@sqlCmd)

** see attachment containing the SQL script text
