The reason that the circuit breaker does not trip is expressed in the time/current curve that are unique properties of circuit breakers or fuses. For example a typical Square ""D"" ""NQ"" breaker rated at 20 amps might trip after 300 seconds of a 20 amp load, but will pass considerably more than 56 amps at 200ms of time.

Yes, the coils themselves are continuous duty rated and do not use a coil clearing switch. However in actual use, a maintained signal should not be used on the shunt close coil (XF). Any opening order will open the breaker so a standing close order is not necessary (see Anti-Pump Feature in the Masterpact catalog 0613CT0001). Instead, use a signal of at least 200ms on the shunt close coil (XF), then remove the signal.

Machine worked well with ATV16. But when replaced by ATV28, no run signal received from controller. Controller is open collector output with 24V supply from the ATV. Controller operating sequence is, during initialisation, send a 200mS run signal to the ATV and read the motor encorder for motion. For ATV28 case, there is no run signal at all. Thus the controller detect a encorder feedback error. Could this be due to the ATV28 emit higher level of noise on the 24V supply, thus interfere with the controller operation? Can ATV58 or ATV11 improve the situation? The ATV28 works well when tested independly.

Replace ATV16U41M2 by ATV28HU41M2. Spray painting maching,

Try to connect the Ov of ATV28 control terminals to the ground. We are very interesting by your problem, is it possible to make some oscillograms of the noise.

The pulse output is a contact closure only - power must be supplied externally in the range of 5-24 V ac/dc, with a maximum load of 100mA.

The pulse output provides a contact closure for 200ms at each pulse time. Be sure the controller will accept this signal as an input. See marked location of the pulse out terminal in figure below.

Resolution

There are three types of ERR LED blinking:

Regular flash -

The LED turns on for 500ms and then off for 500ms regularly.

This signifies an INVALID_OS controller state There is not a valid firmware file present in the flash memory. The controller does not execute the application. Refer to the Firmware Upgrade section of the SoMachine HTML Help to restore a correct state.

 

Single flash -

The LED turns on for 1000ms, then off for a short 200ms and repeats this pattern.

This signifies an EMPTY controller state, no program has been loaded to the PLC in this state (usually after a Firmware Upgrade procedure has been done or when a Reset Origin is performed)

 

Fast flash -

The LED flashes on and off alternating quickly within 500ms at a regular pace.

This signifies an EMPTY after a system error detected controller state.

This state is the same as the normal EMPTY state. But the application is present (as a BOOT project), and is intentionally not loaded into working memory. A next reboot (power cycle), or a new application download, will restore correct state.
