      Reference the embedded video and attached documents for detailed instructions when using DLF-3000 to upgrade CM4000, PM800, and PM5000 series meter firmware.

      The attached procedure is specific to upgrading firmware on the PM800 and PM5000 meters, however the concept and guidelines will be similar for the following meter types in the Powerlogic family:

      • To upgrade a CM4000/4250, load the firmware files in the following order using DLF-3000:
      1- CM4_DL_XXXXX.fw
      2- CM4_OS_XXXXX.fw
      3- CM4_LL_XXXXX.fw

      If it is a CM4000T, install CVMT_OS_XXXXX.fw after upgrading the CM4_LL_XXXX.fw file.
      • To upgrade CM3000 series, load the firmware files in the following order using DLF-3000:
      1- CM3_DL_XXXXX.fw
      2- CM3_OS_XXXXX.fw
      3- CM3_LL_XXXXX.fw

      How can a BCM module be programmed for 2w Modbus on a 4w communication system?

      Issue:
      Applying BCM programmed for 2 wire modbus to a 4 wire modbus system

      Product Line:
      Powerpact and Masterpact breakers with modbus communications

      Resolution:
      1. With a newer Micrologic P or H trip unit, you may reprogram the BCM module to 4w.  This requires firmware version 2010AK or newer.
      2. If the trip unit does not have this option or if it is an A trip unit, you may use a 2w to 4w converter, like CNV-100. See the attached instruction bulletin for more details.
      3. Schneider sales offices can also order a BCM programmed for 4w Modbus. Order the module number, 33106, in Q2C with a note that you want it programmed for 4w Modbus.
        BCM 33106 profile is available only on Q2C Tool. Contact regional field offices to support order submission for customers who are unable to access Q2C.

      Which trip unit and BCM date code are configured for a 2 wire modbus system?

      Issue:
      BCM for a 2-wire modbus system

      Resolution:
      Micrologic P and H firmware needs to be 2010-AK or later in order to set the BCM ULP to 2w+ULP mode.  
      Also, the BCM ULP needs to have the gray connection point (the connector itself will still be green), which will have a firmware higher than 3.x.x.  

      On a BCM configured for 4w Modbus, if jumpers are placed between E3 and E5, and between E4 and E6, and the mode is set to 4w on the trip unit, it will work as 2w without ULP.

      Breakers shipped November 2015 and after have BCMs configured for 2w + ULP.  Date code approximately 15441 and later.

      What are the differences between the ATV31 and ATV312?

      Issue:
      ATV31 vs ATV312 drive. 

      Product Line:
      ATV31, Altivar 31, ATV312, Altivar 312

      Environment:
      All models, all serial numbers.

      Cause:
      ATV31 became obsolete in Dec 2010.

      Resolution:
      The ATV312 drives are a direct replacement for the ATV31 drives (or ATV31-A). Please see attachment. The ATV312 drive has the same dimensions, wiring, and programming as the old version ATV31 drive.

      The changes made from the ATV31 to ATV312 include:
      -  Optional DeviceNet, Profibus, CanOpen Daisy Chain communication cards.
      -  Addition of a rotary dial to quickly scroll parameters
      -  Addition of Run/Stop buttons
      -  Addition of a door to cover the buttons against accidental contact
      -  changed the color of the plastic to follow Schneider Electric color coding (white = control section, black = power section)

      Resolution:
      This is a Speed Reference Fault.  It indicates an incorrect setting in F201, F202, F203, F204 OR F210, F211, F212, F213.

      Verify these parameters, and set them properly.
      Default settings are:
      F201 = 0%
      F202 = 0Hz
      F203 = 100%
      F204 = 50/60Hz

      F2010 = 0%
      F2011 = 0Hz
      F2012 = 100%
      F2013 = 50/60Hz
       

      What is one way to tell if a drive or Softstarter is still under Standard warranty?

      Issue:
      Standard warranty for a Drive or Softstarter.

      Resolution:
      The date of purchase indicated on the distributors invoice or receipt can be used to determine if the drive or a Softstarter is in warranty. The standard warranty is 18 months.  If no receipt or invoice is available, the date code of the drive can be used to determine if the drive is in warranty.  This date code is imbedded into the Serial number that is located on the right side label of the unit below the bar code. The first 2 digits indicate the manufacturing plant.  The next two digits indicate the last two numbers of the year it was manufactured and the next two digits indicate the week of that year.  The following numbers indicate the sequence of drive. 
       example:  8B 092124041 (8B = manufacturing location, 09 = year 2009, 21 = week).  The warranty ends November of 2010 (18 months from May 2009).
