What would cause a Quantum 140CPS11100 power supply to not power up?

The Quantum 140CPS11100 power supply that has a PV 01 or higher now require a jumper on pins 3 and 4 on the terminal strip for 115 VAC operations. If this jumper is not installed, it will be set for 220 VAC operations. Any power supply with a PV less than 1 did not require the jumpers.

Can my XW+ inverter qualify an input of 120V/208V 60Hz?

XW+ inverters input parameters

The XW+ and XW inverters, either the XW6848, XW5548, XW6048, XW4548 or the XW4024, require an input of 120V/240V 60Hz. When the input is 120V/208V 60Hz, is going to be a three phase setup. The reason for this is because the XW+ and XW unit require a phase difference between line 1 (L1) and line 2 (L2) of 180 degrees, on a three phase setup, L1 and L2 are 120 degrees offset. This causes the inverter to not recognize the input at all. The inverter can only accept input from 120/208V wye source if you have 3 inverters (1 per phase), each "converted" to 120V, and then configured for 3-phase multi-unit operation.

If the PV is < PV06, it is Q1SV248E.BIN.
If the PV is => PV06,  it is Q1RV301E.BIN.


Note:  The Quantum 140CPUX130x is obsolete and has been replaced with the Unity Quantum which will be obsoleted 12/31/2018 and the upgrade recommendation would be to use the M580 and import the program into the Unity Pro software.

Can a Twido TWDLCAA40DRF controller have a Memory cartridge and a Real Time Clock chip (RTC) installed?

Yes. The Twido TWDLCAA40DRF has a "built-in" RTC chip so you do not need to add the chip. As for the memory chip, this would only be needed if you want to save the program to it and it would not remain in the controller. It also has an option to add an external battery to hold the program when it is powered down.

Will Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) requests pass through a router?

DHCP requests sent by the client device, or client computer are broadcasts. Routers do not pass broadcasts through to other networks. This prevents a broadcast problem on one network from propagating to another. To use DHCP across a routed network, a DHCP/ BOOTP relay agent must be employed (RFC 1542). ( DHCP is an extension of the bootstrap protocol (BOOTP), refer to RFC 951).
A relay agent is a program used to pass specific types of IP packets between subnets. A DHCP/BOOTP relay agent simply passes DHCP/BOOTP messages (IP packets) from one subnet to another. It can be software or hardware based. Some routers are RFC 1542-compliant. These have an agent built in to them.

An error in the NetBotz product registration web page, causes the registration date for Version 2 appliances to show up incorrectly in the Advanced View and Basic View. The incorrect dates shown are usually 1/1/2004 or 12/31/2004.

Resolution:



It is important to note that the date stored in the NetBotz database and displayed on the register.netbotz.com web site are correct. It is only the date that is returned back to and stored on the appliance for viewing in the Basic View or the Advanced View is incorrect. Therefore all information concerning entitlement and warranty is stored correctly in the NetBotz system.
This error has been fixed and all products registered after August 3, 2005 will reflect the date correctly in the Advanced View and Basic View.

Customers may correct this by re-registering the appliance. However, the appliance registration information stored locally must be erased first. To reset the appliance registration enter the following URL (where ip_of_bot is the IP address or host name of the appliance):

https://ip_of_bot/unregister

Once the registration data has been reset, access the appliance with the Advanced View and login with an administrator ID. Click on the "About" view and then click the button titled "Registe"".

The following is recommendation on when a power cycle of the NIP2212 may be required to
recover from a fault condition that is shown in the status word.

  • A power cycle of the NIM may be required if, the bit for condition 'D9' (internal failure) is set in the
status word as described in the online help. 'D9' will get set when there is a global error. (i.e., if a
mandatory module is missing.)
  • Depending on the situation, some global errors may require a power cycle to restart the NIM or
island after the error condition has corrected.
  • Bit error conditions 'D8' and 'D10' may or may not require a power cycle.

Note: If the error condition can be corrected without power cycling the NIM, the error bit will get reset.

To install a shorting contactor, a contactor that engages when the soft start is up to full speed, on the ATS48.
  1. Install an interposing relay to control the shorting contactor
  1. The supply for the interposing relay is wired to R2C or the Soft start
  2. R2A is wired to A1 of the interposing relay
  3. A2 of the interposing relay is wired to the neutral/common of the supply voltage
  1. The shorting contactor will be energized by the interposing relay.
  1. The supply voltage of the shorting contactor is wired to a normally open contact on the interposing relay.
  2. A1 of the shorting contactor is wired to the opposite side of the same normally open contact on the interposing relay.
  3. A2 is wired to the neutral/common of the supply voltage for the shorting contactor.

Yes. In order to remove the password, you will need to know the old password. To remove password protection from an application, you
will need to do the following:

 

1.
Open the application that has been password protected using the current password.
2.
Select Program - Change Password from the main menu.
3.
Type the current password in Enter Old Password. Do not enter a password in "New Password " field, tab through the other boxes.
4.
Select OK to close the box.

The application must be saved to remove password protection.

StruxureWare Power Monitoring 7.0 - Why do I see 'an unexpected error has occurred' when I try to add a Report Subscription in Web Reporter?

If StruxureWare Power Monitoring 7.0 is installed as a distributed system, that is, there is both a database server and an application server and Reporting Services is installed on the database server, you will not be able to create a report subscription.. When an attempt is made to add a report subscription, in the Web Reporter UI, the user will see a screen that says ''unexpected error has occurred. Your request cannot be processed at this time. If the problem persists, contact the Webpage administrator'.

If you look in the EventException table, the following will be displayed:

This problem results because the IONUser windows account is not created on the application server at install time.

Resolution
The workaround is to add the IONUser Windows account manually. The password should be set to 'IONisgreat!' without the single quotes.. Most of the time, It does not need to be a member of any group. However, if the same error message shows up again, adding the IONUser to the Administrators group can correct the error.

This problem has been addressed in Struxureware Power Monitoring 7.0.1, but only on new installations. SPM 7.0 systems that are upgraded to SPM 7.0.1 will need to have the IONUser added to the application server manually.

READ_VAR or WRITE_VAR does not re-establish communications after re-connecting cable.

Goals and Symptoms

READ_VAR or WRITE_VAR does not re-establish communications after re-connecting cable.

Causes and Fixes

The READ_VAR or WRITE_VAR does not re-establish communications after re-connecting the
Ethernet TCP/IP cable.

This will occur if the communications timeout is left at the default value of zero (0). A timeout value of
zero 0) will cause the function block to never timeout. This results in the The READ_VAR and
WRITE_VAR block to never close the TCP/IP connection when the Ethernet cable is disconnected
and re-connected. The PLC will need to be stopped and re-started after the Ethernet TCP/IP cable
is re-connected.

(If you can get online and change the slave ip address of the block, build changes, then  change it back
to the wanted address, build changes again, this will also get it to reestablish communications)

To resolve the issue, define a timeout value in the '%MW+2' management word of the READ_VAR
or WRITE_VAR block.

How to add AS-I device from a catalog.
Once the program is open and you are in the configuration tab and the TWDNOI10M3 has been added to the Controller, double click on the TWDNOI10M3 and the following will show.



Insert from catalog button on the bottom of the screen or you can also select the button to the left of it to add to catalog. You will also need to select the address of the AS-i device for the module configuration.








Select the family and the device to see the following information on the right side for the device that was selected.



The following information will now give the Permanent characteristics along with the Profile and addressing.


NOTE:  Twido is obsolete as of 12/31/2016 and is replaced with the M221 family and the M221 does not support the AS-i protocol and is recommended o replace with Ethernet or RS-485.

How do you configure a Run/Stop bit in TwidoSuite for a Twido Controller?

To show how to configure a Run/Stop bit for a Twido Controller using TwidoSuite.

Causes and Fixes

To be able to set up a Run/Stop bit in using TwidoSuite you will need to do the following steps.
Open the program and go to program and configure tab.



At this point depending on what controller that you have selected you will have an input that you can configure as a Run/ Stop bit. This will be an input between %I0.0 to %I0.23 depending on the model number. Select the input that you want to be the Run/Stop bit.



Once you have selected and download this into the controller your first input will control your Run/Stop. In this case it will be %I0.0.


Note: the Twido has been obsoleted 12/31/2016 and has been replaced with the M221, The M221 has a start/stop switch on the front of every M221.

Causes and Fixes

Changing the 'Power Flow Lne Width' using the up or down arrows in the Logic Properties window
causes 'ProWORX 32' to close.


The following workaround can be used to change the line width without using the up or down arrows:

  • Click on the textbox next to the 'Power Flow Line Width' to highlight the text..
  • Change the value within the textbox to a number between 1 and 6.
  • Click on the 'Apply button.
  • Click on 'OK' to close the properties window.


This problem has been fixed in Patch A for Service Pack 1. Patch A is expected to be released near the end of Q2/09.

Resolution:
The RPDO or TPDO is a 64-byte object that can contain up to eight 8-byte word objects or four 16-byte word objects or any combination of those two types of word objects, not too exceed the overall 64-byte limit of the PDO.
To customize the PDO mapping, select the Mapped Object you wish to modify.
Note: You can not add a 32 byte object into the PDO.

NOTE: The Twido is obsolete 12/31/2016 and has ben replaced with the M221 and the M221 does not support CANopen.
 
 

How long can a Twido hold the program when powered down without an external battery?

 

All bases: By lithium internal battery. Backup duration is approximately 30 days (typically) at 25°C (77°F) after battery is fully charged. It take 15 hours to obtain 0 to 90% of the full battery charge. Battery life is 10 years when charged for 9 hours and discharged for 15 hours. The battery cannot be replaced.

40DRF compact bases: By user replaceable lithium external battery (in addition to internal battery onboard). Backup duration is approximately 3 years (typically) at 25°C (77°F) under normal operating conditions of the base (typically, no long-term powering off of the base). BAT LED on front-panel provides indication of battery power status.
