        After applying power to the meter, the meter displays "ERROR CHECK WIRES RED* CT RED* VOLT LEAD SAME PHASE"

        Meter will display this message if, the phasing of the CT and voltage leads are incorrect or if the load is below the minimum for the CT. The datasheet specifies the CT's to have a 2% minimum. If the CT's are rated for 100A, the minimum amperage required is 2A.

        How to "Move" One Variable to Another in SCADAPack Workbench (ST, FBD and LD)

        Some PLC programming applications have a "move" block to perform the task of assigning one variable to another. In SCADApack Workbench (CAM3 & CAM5) there are multiple programming language options as it is an IEC 61131-1 environment. Each of these languages have their unique way of performing a "move" command

        In the following examples it is assumed you have declared local variables for each POU (Program Organization Unit)

        SNMP OIDs Required for Rack PDU 2G Products (AP86XX, AP88XX, AP89XX)

        SNMP OIDs required for Rack PDU 2G products - which are correct?

        Product Line:
        • Rack Power Distribution 2G products
          • AP88XX Metered Rack PDU 2G
          • AP89XX Switched Rack PDU 2G
          • AP86XX Switched Rack PDU with Metering By Outlet
          • AP84XX Metered by Outlet Rack PDU

        • All serial numbers
        • All firmware versions
        • Users utilizing SNMP for polling

        APC's Next Generation Rack PDUs (AP84XX, AP86XX, AP88XX, AP89XX) utilize a separate MIB subtree for querying values via SNMP. These devices are able to report voltage, amps, volts, kW, and kWh, rather than just amps like their predecessors.

        In order to query any Rack PDU 2G units via SNMP, the subtree is located at that the following OID:
        The Rack PDU 2G may respond to certain Rack PDU 1G (AP78XX, AP79XX) OIDs, but that is not officially supported or recommended.

        In the Rack PDU subtree, you will find some helpful load reporting OIDs such as:
        • rPDU2BankStatusCurrent - Current draw, in tenths of Amps, of the load on the Rack PDU bank being queried
        • rPDU2BankStatusLoadState - lowLoad, normal, nearOverload, overload
        • rPDU2DeviceStatusLoadState - Indicates the present load status of the Rack PDU
        • rPDU2DeviceStatusPower - The power consumption of the Rack PDU load in hundredths of kilowatts
        • rPDU2DeviceStatusEnergy - A user resettable energy meter measuring Rack PDU load energy consumption in tenths of kilowatt-hours
        The APC Powernet SNMP MIB is can be downloaded from the Software & Firmware Download section of under Firmware Upgrades - MIB.

        How is Energy calculated in Enercept and Energy Meters using the Integer registers?

        Energy is stored over a 2 16 bit registers. Like all the Integer registers in the Enercept/Energy meters, a multiplier must be applied.
        The multiplier for the Least significant register(LSR) is used.
        Below are two examples with a 3020E012(100A model):
        Firstly, the multiplier for the 100A Enercept for the register 1 is 0.0078125

        Register: Decimal Value -> binary value
        1: 1769 -> 0000011011101001
        2: 204 -> 11001100

        32 bit 110011000000011011101001 as an integer yields 13371113
        Multiplied by the 100A multipler, 13371113 * 0.0078125 = 104461.820 kwh

        OR mathematically represented:

        Register: Decimal Value -> binary value
        1: 1769 -> 0000011011101001
        2: 204 -> 11001100

        (204*65536+1769)*0.0078125 = 104461.820 kwh

        Integer Register Multipliers can be found in RESL199452

        ION8650 sliding Window Demand module lower than expected after a time sync

        Sliding window Demand module (SWD) is lower than expected after a meter is time synched

        ION8650 firmware V407 and below

        Meter is time sync'd where the clock is adjusted forward and the SWD module is set to an integer value (900, 300 etc). For example the time is changed from 11:11:51 AM to 11:12:40 AM. This does not include when clock is adjusted backwards.

        A change to the SWD module created a connection between the module and a time sync on the meter.

        This has been fixed in V420 firmware. To reduce the impact of this issue, the smaller the change in time for each time sync the smaller the impact on the SWD module. Consider time syncing the meters as often as possible.

        What are the Supported Programming Languages in SCADAPack Workbench (IEC 61131-1 for SCADAPack Standard & SCADAPack E)

        SCADAPack Workbench supports four standard IEC 61131-3 programming languages. These languages can be mixed within an application to provide an optimum control strategy. The supported programming languages are described below.

        Functional Block Diagram (FBD)

        The Function Block Diagram is a graphic language used to build complex procedures from a library of functions. Standard library functions such as math and logic may be combined with custom library functions such as serial port control, PID controls and Modbus master and slave protocols to create Function Block Diagram application programs. A class of programs called functions allows the creation of user functions that are not included in the library.

        Structured Text (ST)

        Structured Text is a high-level structured language, similar to Pascal and C, that is used for complex procedures or calculation that cannot be easily implemented using graphic languages. Structured Text is the default language used to describe actions within the steps of the Sequential Function Chart language.

        Ladder Diagram (LD)

        Ladder Diagram is a graphic language combining contacts and coils to build logical discrete control procedures. This language is identical to the relay ladder logic used by many programmable Logic RTUs. Ladder Diagram contacts and coils may be used in the Function Block Diagram language for discrete control of functions.

        Sequential Function Chart (SFC): (SCADAPack E RTUs CAM5 Only)

        The Sequential Function Chart is available for SCADAPack E Target 5 applications. It is a graphic language used to describe sequential operations in a process. The process is graphically partitioned into a set of well-defined steps containing actions performed using other languages. Steps are linked together with conditional transitions. This language is useful for batch processes and process procedures such as automatic startup and shut down.
