You can set automations for when the device is triggered; like turning all the lights on in the bedrooms, lighting up a path way to the front door and sending a notification to a phone so others out of the home can also take action and check on you and your home.
You can use the Wiser by SE app to check that your smoke alarms are online and working properly and that it has plenty of battery power. It can even send you test reminder notifications.
