By altering the switching frequency (SFR) we can alter the performance of the motor
control law. Increasing switching frequency:
• Reduces audible noise in the motor or output filter
• Improves speed and torque precision, especially at higher output frequencies
• Increases losses
• Can result in EMC issues
Switching frequency:
• Is adjustable in 0.1kHz steps
• Can be set to automatically increase if the output frequency is greater than the nominal frequency of the motor
• Can be randomly modulated to attenuate resonant frequencies causing noise
