Issue: Full voltage bypass availability in an enclosed drive supplied with single phase power.
Product Line: All Altivar enclosed drive systems.
Environment: All models, All serial numbers
Cause: Customer needs redundancy in their motor control system but does not have three phase power available.
Resolution: A bypass can not be used with a system that is supplied with single phase power. When in bypass mode, the drive is being bypassed and is not in the power circuit. A three phase contactor connects line power directly to the motor. With single phase input, there is no third phase to send to the motor. The motor would be powered with single phase power and not only would the motor not run, it would very likely be damaged.
