The heat dissipation of the Passive Filter used for the Altivar 71 Drive is 2% of thermal losses. (Passive Filter efficiency is 98%).
Example:
Below is an example showing the calculation to estimate the heat dissipation of passive filter.
Considering Passive filter VW3A4621 for 2.2KW drive with main supply 400V (U), the Line current as per catalogue is 5Amps.
The power absorbed is Pa = U * I * 1.73 = 400 * 5 * 1.73 = 3460W
As efficiency of passive filter is 0.98.
Heat Dissipation (power loss) = PA * 0.02 = 3460W * 0.02 = 70W.
