When reading a REAL number from a Slave using IO Scanner in an M340, the REAL number value in the PLC is not even remotely the correct value, why?

This is possibly due to the fact that the word order for the slave device differs from the PLC. Try swapping the word order after the value is read in at the M340. If you are reading the value into %MW0, the REAL number occupies %MW0 and %MW1 as a 32 bit REAL number. You can do something like %MW100:=%MW1;, %MW101:=%MW0;. Now create a Variable located to %MW100 of datatype REAL and see if the number is displayed properly.
