As of5/1/2013, all NEMA 4X factory assembled outdoor enclosures are now white painted aluminum rather than gray painted steel. The new white enclosures are an improvement over the old enclosures for a number of reasons. The white paint reflects more of the sun's heat and the fact that they are aluminum results in the enclosures being corrosion resistant, lighter, and recyclable.
