A ATV68C23N4 is applied to a steel rolling mill plant for steel rebar conveyor. There are 36 3Hp motors connected in parallel which are driven by this ATV68C23N4( all motors are same rating). The ATV68C23N4 would sometimes trip to "(61) Stall protection" which the starting current is very large. (However, the power rating of ATV68C23N4 is larger than all 36 motors in parallel). How does the ATV68C23N4 trip to "stall protection" ? How to solve this fault code when ATV68C23N4 has many motors connected in parallel? Could autotuning solve this "stall protection" problem? Could we dismiss autotuning function after we had done it?
Possible cause: The motor does not start because of a mechanical block.
Remedy: Check the motor and/or drive machine.
Possible cause: Strong motor overload (running with high current and low frequency for a long time).
Remedy: Reduce the load and/or check parameters E2.06 to E.208.
Possible cause: The operating frequency is in the range of parameters E2.06 to E2.08. (e.g.: crane hoist with external fan).
Remedy: Adjust parameters E2.06 to E2.08 to the operation.
Possible cause: Voltage testing wire for phase U is not connected (size 5 only !!).
Remedy: Connect testing wire.
Possible cause: A motor phase is interrupted, e.g. due to a cable interruption or defect switching element in the motor wiring. The frequency inverter does not accelerate above 0.1 .. 0.5 Hz and indicates a high current.
Remedy: Correct problem.
