What is the difference between the MA-0185-000 Rev. B taps and the MA-0185-100 taps, and why can they not be mixed?

The difference between the MA-0185-000 Rev. B taps and the MA-0185-100 taps is that the Rev. B taps appear to the cable as 600 ohm shunts rather than 75 ohm impedance matching devices. As a result, coax termination suffers causing larger than normal reflections which were not attenuated by the closely spaced taps appearing as a number of 600 ohm shunt in parallel. Since the first tap was at a critical point on the cable, detrimental reflections effects were maximized. The effect was to cause improper zero crossing of the coax signal (jitter) resulting in faulty message decoding and subsequent retries.
