What is the difference between L>ext and L>int on a VAMP 221 and VAMP 321?

The L>ext setting allows a slave device to initiate a trip from a condition outside its zone. The L>int setting allows a slave module to initiate a trip from a condition present in it's own zone.
Note: This does not affect how the master device will handle the condition as it is set at the master device level and not the slave module.
