Can you output 460V out of a drive with only 230V coming in and the drive is also rated for 230V?

    Issue:
Can you output 460V out of a drive with only 230V coming in and the drive is also rated for 230V?

    Product Line:
    All drives

    Environment:
    All

    Cause:
    N/A

    Resolution:
No.  A drive cannot act as a transformer.  In most cases what is coming in at the line side of a drive is what will be coming out.

The only exception is the ATV12 drives that can accept 120V input and output 230V.  This is limited to 1 HP.
