    PowerChute Network Shutdown Virtual Appliance Hostname resets after reboot

    The Hostname has been changed for the PowerChute Network Shutdown Virtual Appliance but after the Appliance is rebooted the host name reverts to localhost.

    If running PCNS 4.2 build 6755 or above to change the host name run the command hostnamectl set-hostname "new hostname"
    Must stop or restart the PCNS service for the host name to change in the PCNS web interface. The commands are service PowerChute stop and service PowerChute start. 

    If running older builds of PCNS 
    1. Power off PowerChute Network Shutdown Appliance:
    2. Right-click on the virtual appliance and click Edit Settings:
    3. In the Virtual Machine Properties window click the Options tab:
    4. Under the vApp options heading click on Advanced and on the right hand side of the window click on Properties:
    5. In the Properties window click on New:
    6. In the Edit Settings window
              Category: select Networking Properties
              Label: hostname
              Class ID: select vami
              ID: hostname
              Default Value: desired hostname
                 NOTE the desired hostname must be entered in lowercase and cannot have spaces or special characters

    7. Click OK to close the window
    8. Click OK to close the Advance Properties Configuration window:
    9. Click OK to close the Virtual Machine Properties window:
    10. Restart the Appliance
